Missed one last night ?? Using 40gr Hornady for first time. Checked zero/poi with them Friday afternoon. 1st one way off, but then next 2 bang on. I just put 1st one down to a 'flyer or some fucķ up. But then 1st/only shot last night with 40gr and clear miss @ 130yds. Spent following hour beating myself up then buggered off home. Will target few more tomorrow. Could it just be my rifle favours the 32gr?

Just for fun; what makes good rough ground in our collective opinions?? I've a patch at top of farm, woodland at top leading down slope of grassland into fair deep drop to a steam with few deep pools. I love walking this patch. Have had mallard, pheasants right through to squirrels & crows. I want my ashes put at base of a beech tree in the corner up there. Happy place.

Strangely enough I've just done the same!! I don't mind the odd driven day here or there but much rather just have a walk about on my own or just couple of mates. Plus, more & more I'm working at getting more of a walked up shoot here where I work.

I got mine just for HMR & closed/restricted. Told after 5yr it'll be open, they might consider after 3 if I have "evidence/diary" of my shooting trips (?) 1yr later I apply for .204CF they say can't clear me for .204 but they can open licence up so I get get my .204 that way. She also said (calm down ian) "if you find the 204 a bit of an oddity I can recommend the .223!"

I've never been measured/fit mate. But I've a 6mm gel pad on my o/u 686 and that's still too low for me.

In interest of fairness probably have to wait to next year, maybe when pheasants finish but still not much in way of natural food abouts??

Evening gents, Can anyone recommend a side by side with a high (monte carlo?) comb? What about an adjustable aftermarket stock fitted onto a sXs; would that ruin the whole appeal of the traditional gun? I've a skinny face & find most off the rack too low in comb but really want a sXs for game.

Why don't we do it on a THL level? Maybe even bit of a competition?? A month to shoot & trap as many as you can with photos & gentleman's honour.
