  1. If I'm confident/satisfied there are grey partridge nesting in the uncut areas under hedgerows, then I'm shooting some crows.
  2. Cheers David. Aye she dropped on spot & sounded soupy inside when I moved her! 32gn federal vital shok nosler
  3. Opposite mate! Was so pisséd off at myself all night, really missed it
  4. Got up to cut silage last night about 9, still like midday mind! Check all my kit before leaving, all good. Still though, had a niggling feeling forgot something, thought not put battery in pard but quick double check and all good. As I come over crest of hill into cut field see a browny red shape mooching along hedge about 600yds..... bloody muntjac! Get set up on sticks & after everything settles I start calling. Get the XM30s out for a scan...... battery dead!!! NO!!! I I'd put it on charge but after getting home discovered I hadn't turned switch on at wall, schoolboy.

  6. What a sad world we live in these days, fear for our future when you stop to think.
  7. I'd love to decoy a few with shotgun, but just don't get the time last year or so, used to love building hide, setting out pattern. Even invested in a flapper, crows love a flapper.
  8. And blacks! I ended up cutting about 60 acres this afternoon & it mobbed with crows right away
  9. Do the exlana lambs need clik?
  10. Aye regretted that mate!! I'll be out alright. Just hope the rain doesn't reach us this afternoon ?
  11. Great evening mate & write up. Im taking our first cut tomorrow ? so will be out tomorrow night on it
  12. Aye he does have a record & some of it for scrapping & just being daft (he once threw a coppers hat off the pier in Llandudno!) I've been up front with him as to why & he understands. He's still applying & I've stressed to just be honest. Let he law do their own job & make up their own mind.
  13. You know what the holes in crocs are for?? It's where your dignity escapes out!
  14. My dog "found" her own brucie this morning!!
  15. No, no I haven't. But like I said, over here each lamb woud need an anaesthetic. That alone makes it far more impractical than ringing, not to mention the extra cost. I know of a study by British vet's who reckon (don't ask me how) the initial pain of ringing is similar to the shock pain of the gas. And obviously due to climate, all those things you're mentioning (fly treatment, worming etc) we aren't doing those by 1-4 weeks, so we'd still need to gather them all up again anyway. Agreed when I used to lamb outside we left tails & balls on. Now I'm lambing indoors in Janua
  16. Agree to disagree there mate. Gas iron not lawful over here without anesthetic (quite right imo). Rubber band at few hours old, they over it pretty quickly and back to binkying around field. Sure you don't do anything to your exlana?
