Hi Folks, I thought I'd share this with you all & hopefully it will help someone out. I bought a Deben Lithium-ion battery from Ian Hodge Fieldsports - 12V 14Ah battery. Ordered it on Tuesday afternoon & arrived Wednesday - spot on. I opened the packet up ready to see what I bought - cracking piece of kit by the looks of it. I was shocked to read the leaflet that says it would take 10-16 hours to charge - WTF!! (obviously only from new) I took it out for a spin last night - was out about 4 hours on the rabbit using a Lazerlite & I must say it was absolutely spot

I find that if I clean mine it takes a couple of shots to get back on target, normally get round to cleaning it when I can be bothered. Rifle being 'unclean' hasn't affected it's accuracy.

Regarding people driving over the fields - I would like to thank the who lit ,e up like a Christmas tree on Thursday night!! Picture the scene; Got out before dusk, into a nice natural hide overlooking some fields, let everything settle through dusk then started calling with a few sweeps of the lamp. Not much about until I picked up a pair of eyes coming over the brow of a hill about 4-500 yards away, thought to myself - I'll get this bugger!! THEN!! Some tw4t in a L200 drove straight up the middle of the field on sidelights & lamping - took 4 flashes of my lamp then near

Gave the subs a try tonight (finally stopped raining here), truthfully, I would say slightly quieter than the standard carts. Must work though, fired at a pigeon coming into the tree I was under, missed!! Walked on 6-7 paces & nearly bowled over by a fox!!!

If you can get hold of some, use neem oil - its the base that is used on all citronella sprays & its the stuff that works, not the citronella. Try a health store or one of the hippy folks on the market (ever wonder why they don't get bitten). Hope this helps Dave

I've managed to track down some fibre wad subs - £6 a box. Plan to give them a try this week. It's a single shot, so fingers crossed, the noisiest thing should be the ejection.

Got a 410 hushpower that is!! The only one I could find at the time was the Baikal version AND, the only carts I could get at the time were normal, need to find some subs to try it out properly. Looks like it will be a handy tool. So the question is - How quiet are they using subs? (When I eventually find some that is!)

I was with BASC for years, until i started ferreting - check the small print, I'm sure they don't cover you while ferreting. Opted for CA in the end.
