    Well basically i think £99 is a bit hefty to pay for a trap right now,especially with the credit crunch going on. Just wondering what sort of materials i need to put a fox trap/larsen trap together and a quick description of how its done, i know some of you know how to do it lol. Thanks in return it will be MUCH appreciated, and gives me somthing to do this weekend

    ok sounds good. not home this weekend now but next weekend got the land sorted with the owner, so ill take the camera n hopefully get you all a few pictures n let ya know how it goes. Plus this months total airgun magazine has a recipe init which im just dying to try lol

    thats good to hear,obviously im not to sure because its my second year this season using ferrets,and obviously its been a few months since i used them i wondered if id have any problems. cant wait to get out there now and see how they go on there first go this season, hopefully this new permission will be promising aswell as its not been ferreted before,but 2 boys shoot on there now and then.

    Hi people been a while since i posted on here thanks to the army lol. Anyway, last year got myself 2 ferrets and had some good outings with them, obviously over summer due to all the young i havnt taken them out working them and putting them down holes etc. Ive got a new bit of land to try now next weekend and itll be the first time out with the ferrets since mid april. Just wondering if theyll fly straight down the holes or if theres a chance theyll just stop working altogether?? Ive kept them fed on rabbits which ive been trappin over summer. thanks in advance

    lol finally got em,its not that hard,i have to use somthing to pry the first bit open though,as soon as i get my fingers in there its not to bad to pull apart.theyre all set in the tunnel down the river now waiting for the mink :-D

    ok,i went all the way to keens gunstore in bridgend to get some fenn traps,in a rush i didnt bother asking how to set them up.ive looked on here how to do it and im trying like it says,but i just cannot get those jaws open,any tips?

    ok so i just passed my army training finally ,so im home for 2 and a half weeks and ready for some ferreting.i got some over christmas and had some good trips so far.im thinking of going out now tomorow,but ive been made aware that at certain time of the year (out of season or somthing?) its just pointless as you have to dig them up because of the babies.just wondering if ill have the same sort of trips as over christmas??or if its true-that ill be digging up 9 out of 10?Thanks guys

    how does the longnet work,i have a 50foot net hear,need something to support it though??hold it up like.do they tangle the rabbits or just hold it withing a certain area?

    yeh basically what my mate said,"youll dig on every hole".obviously its a risk you have to take,but can you still get good rabbits and good amounts in summer?

    what you bolt the rabbit and then shoot them??why dont you use purse nets its so much easier.

    ok so after a great weekend ferreting (first time ive had and used my ferrets) im going awqay again for 7 weeks and wont be back until mid march.A friend of mine says by then i wont be able to use my ferrets again until autumn time??how come

    well the rabbit was gutted so i kept 2 for the pot and then all the meat off the other i gave to the ferrets.i dont fancy given them stuff like the heart etc

    went out again today,only had 3 this time but still great fun,decided to reward my ferrets with some fresh rabbit meat!!

    ok so over christmas while i was home on leave i got 2 ferrets,kitted them out wiuth everything they need,and my mum and dad has been taking care of them for me while ive been away. Today at about 12oclock me and my mate went to a location and his little terrier marked a hole. (i sent my ferret down a few holes locally over xmas but nothing around due to mixy). About 2 minutes after sending the ferret down BANG we had one in the net,i didnt realise how exciting it all was lol.withing the 1.30-2 hour session we had 5 bunnies,which would of been six but the rabbit fell out of the net when i went

    well im in the gwent area. WOuld like to go around usk,hereford,abergavenny all that sort of area but getting permission is hard,especially as i dont hae much time on my hands!

    Hi.Basically im just after some permission to ferret every now and then. Wont be very often as im in the army but i think mixi has killed just about everything up here. If anyone can help out thanks!

    do the purse nets tighten as the rabbit runs in on there own??or do you have to pull the cord yourself to close the net

    ok im in need of a ferret box (might make one myself) and some purse nets asap,im away for a few weeks sunday so cant wait for them to come off the net.anybody know of anyone or any shops anywhere in wales,preferably south,where i can get these??thanks

    i popped last night to see a bloke who lives across the road.he has a working hob that i can have he said if i want it,but theyre not kitts they ar efully grown.apparntly theyre tame with handling,but will it make difference as ive not had them fom kitts??
