Hiya lads, just a quick one. Been shooting a few pheasants lately with good success, knocking em down out of the bush and trees on my permission where im allowed to take anything I want within the law of the land. I went out two nights ago and I hit 4 pheasant amd two lots of wood Pidgeon. However, each bird, even the ones head shot, managed to flap enough to launch over I to thick cover where I couldn't see them and got away. I was using double threw gold and 12mm lead on my missus hegarty catapult. I was a bit gutted as what could of been a cracking day turned Into the o es that got away. The

Greyman I got double theraband gold on there. I've dropped a few birds with them up close its just over a distance it does drop off quickly.

Fenn, never had huge numbers as a lad, six would be an amazing day, normally two a time bit I was happy with that. After a break got some ferrets again this year and terrible. Plenty of signs on fresh dug warrens, and some real good warrens', but just nothing bolting. All I've had a few on this year are the snares and that's been solid aswell, only three. You've always found Gwent bad have you?

I uses barnetts start off. How my shooting changed when I changed bands. Mind you the Barnett's do Launch a 12mm lead well. Try a few others Bands and see what suits but match the ammo. Barnett need heavy ammo

Merry Christmas blokes. Got a catty off the missus over Xmas, a nick hegarty. I have focused on my anchor point consitency lately and reference point on the forks and at about 4 or 5 meters can hit a bull the size of a 50p. Ok so I went out in the car last night and had a few shots. 12mm lead as ammo. One was a woody overhead, missed by a fraction going over the top of his head. Now the crows were a bit further in the tree and as I room a shot both times they dropped just below hitting the branch he was sat on. I shot a lead out to see how it drops and they do drop considerably quick I noticed

I've ferreted hard up here since September, some good sets and many different areas around Gwent, not bolted one rabbit. I hope over time the new born will build up a bit of immunity like they do with the mixy.

I've upped all my snares now bar the fence ones until I can get a peg on like the one's pictures. Thanks for helping me out guys.

What a sad existence it would be coming on here making up imaginary stories about having trouble snaring. Honest to god.

What am I fibbing about mate? I've been on the forum nearly ten years mate, we arnt all great with technology.

I popped up this morn and had a bunny. The snare was pulled up along with another and I thought they had been robbed. Then i noticed two metrs away a bunny in the bush, he tried to run off but the snare was tangles on the bush. He had been done around the neck and arm. Lesson learned that i need longer pegs ferret net pegs are not long enough. The snare was set nice and high on a run, took Nine days for this particular snare to catch. I am learning slowly. Merry Xmas.

Im happy to come out with you, however, not been having much luck around here. Plenty of signs, shit and fresh digs, but nobody home when I've sent my ferret Down. I found a few good ones today that look promising just need cutting back. Im in Pontypool.

nothings been pulled this morning so there will be a delay. There is a fox about now and then but I've not had any issues with him only my sisters chickens. There's no remains or anything, soi think they've been slipped. It's not crawling with rabbits but enough to get one In the snare for the pot now and then. Im just getting a bit fed up around here, I've out out cage traps for mink just to catch something, nothing. Bugger all with the ferrets, nothing on the lamp anywhere. Compared to ten years ago when I was a teen doing it, the results are worlds apart.

I'll try and get some photos tomorrow if anything has been pulled.

Hey guys. Now im home on leave I've been able to get the snares up at my sisters field. Got a few off woodga on tealers that are new to me. Most on the fences. Now the last four nights I've had a snare pulled each time, two are out on ru s, tealers pulled up, in one case bent, with a loop at the end about the size of a tea cup. Had one pulled on the fence this morning too. Tiny run coming out of gorse bush through the fence, pulled but not caught. No idea how something for away with that one. I've tries setting snares higher, even though they are hgh, as I put it down to the backs legs pulling

Here in south wales its shocking. Got some ferrets this year to get back into the sport and not bolted a Single rabbit. Had two this year on snares. The field behind my sisters did see thirty odd in there on three occasions, a week later, not seen a single one Since. Im not sure if this virus is something they can gain an immunity to but its a sad thing. Ten years ago id always have a few with the ferrets, nothing anywhere not even on the lamp. What's the probability of rabbits becoming endangered on a serious note?

I stopped doing this yesterday and pulled back my draw alot more and not a single hand hit thank god. Im trying to build instinctive aiming mainly bit will give aiming a try once my blood sport arrives.

Can anybody offer advice, for some reason even though my accuaracy is improving the last two days I've had some really bad hits to my fingers and I've become a bit nervous of shooting as they've been really sore. It's like when I release the Band goes wild and the bearing just smashed I to my finger same place same finger and I don't know why.

What have you done there caught a wild mink and use it as a ferret lol?
