Or id pay a few quid for a bottle of it if its less than 11quid?
-
Worth asking, ill only be using it on my own permissions when I for time off work. I've heard squirrels have glands but on the DVD it looks like they're licking it so im guessing its some sort of food based thing. Works a treat anyways on the film.

And you Archie. Does the lad enjoy getting out?
-
Glad you had a few Arry. Hope all is well down there. Me and the missus are having a go at thst pasty recipe you gave me his week haha.

Just got given the DVD as a present from my girlfriend. Great watch, he keeps reffering to his home made squirrel lure and using it to great effect. Wondering what it is and how you make it? There's one online for 11quid for 100ml. Would like to make one to try. Cheers lads.

Ratrap, I would of thought looking at your video he river was to rough and rocky to cast Into. I guess I need to learn where on the river to fish. So your just casting in and letting the current take it? And touch ledgering?
-
Oh and as said fourteen acre good for traps that's who I use.
-
Fair play I take back what I said. I've only seen bodygrips used for mink though myself, I don't know how they would be set for a rat as they have to be anchored or held in position don't they?
-
What do you mean fly boy the trout hide in the hole? They must be in there. Thanks Neil ill give the minnows a go I never really though of it before as a method for trout.
-
Just use snapper traps mate if you got no cats etc. Don't see the point using bodygrips for rats.
-
Tidy. What you bait with?
-
Now im going to ask how you get the minnows haha, bottle trap?
-
Cheers lads for the knowledge. I walked the river the other week but it was that rough my line was just being washed back into me and the other stretches I could see Into the water and just could not see any fish. I'd say there are no fish there but surely every river has them. I've read about these mepps before im going to order some in. As for worm, isit literally just a case of worm on hook, a few shot up the line and touch ledgering? All these years of carping got me confused haha.
-
Alright lads, fished for about fifteen years and been all course and carp. My first fish was a trout from a river by my house, I remember I had a worm on a hook and a few shot on just flicking it in and managed one. Well after a good year on the carp last year im wanting to get a few trout. The place I aight my first fish is baron now sadly, probably been fished for. Im just wondering if the boys on here who fish for trout, what you do. I have a fly rod but im after plain and simple really with worms.

Tom I actually borrowed a shopping trolley recently but I've not bothered making it as its smaller than the one im using at the.moment, however yours clearly catches foxes. Fenn, I may take you up if I have no success. My sister made me remove all my snares as I caught her cat twice and last time it had him pretty bad and nearly killed him. I've had snares pulled on a few fence holes that look suspicious before I removed them but it could of been rabbits. If in a few weeks still nothing I will pm you, would be interested to learn a bit about snaring the Charlie's as I've never managed one yet.

Thanks for the offer walshie, im up Newport way so a bit of a distance otherwise i would of taken you up on the offer. I guess this cage is around three foot long bit the fox is very large, an old boy for sure. I will check out those web sites, so 6 foot trap is overkill?
-
Ok, so had issues with the foxes up my sister field. Been up with my missus dad and he's a big dog fox, the run os on the other side of the fence he uses every night, can't snare though as alot of dog walkers walk down that run. We made a trap from a dog crate and pit it by the fence next to so.e gorse bush. It's been baited over the weeks with rabbit, pheasant and chickens, all have been take , trap triggered But no fox. The trap has a hindged door and is only a large dog crate so not very long. We have come to the conclusion the fox is half in half out taking the bait and the door, not being

No worries mate they work nicely and we used it for the fox too, showed him up no problem, as well as the bunnys. -
It's hard to see what's going on here it must be the cold. The shots seem off and I've tried using 9.5 steel as well but still a bit off. Odd how one day they were going through the bird and this time just a thud and getting away. What setups are you using lads, ammo and bands? Also who aims and who shoots on instinct?
-
Alright lads thought I'd mention and give you a heads up, in the garages at the moment you can pickup an AA light for a tenner and its brilliant. Has two lights, one spot, one more like a search style light. I used one identical by cree the other night out foxing with my missus dad which is why I gave it a go. Took it out and its great for lamping, the handle twists also so it can be held like a pistol. I'd post a photo but im pants with computers. It's yellow and black you won't miss it. Ideal for keeping in the boot, however this one is going to replace my 180quid light force and battery pack

Cheers grey, I thought I'd check as like I say im new to the bands. I had a few pulls in the mirror today and noticed the frame isn't quite square how I've had it so maybe that has something to do with it. It was pretty cold the night I was usng it. Maybe it was just o e of those days but out of six birds hit I should of dropped one to the floor without it managing to flap back up. Im thinking of getting a 10mm mould as you recommended see how it effects the killing potential on impact.

Good snaring there mate. I have started snaring this year with some success, don't have huge number by any means lucky to get one but it's worth it when I get one. Still learning the ropes. Good work.
