once knew a man in n.ireland had 2 pet foxes in a kennell with a big run we used to drop of rabbits to him to feed them he also kept terriers and had been on local tv as well when we stayed with a mate who lived near him after a days digging we would get on the beer then go and see the tame foxes he would take one out and dance around his front room holding the foxes 2 front feet while he danced he use to say he was doing the fox trot he also had a big boar which he left running loose you had to sound your horn so he could put it away as it was better than any guard-dog you could-not even get

i personly have used both types and find them excellant allrounders but as they say it all depends on what you do with them 3/4 a bit faster and more nimble 1/2 a lot stronger and able to take more stick have also got bullwhippetxbullgreyhound cant fault this cross for working with terriers doing cover will hit the cover when chasing and just carry on though cover and i mean thick bramble and they catch a few in the cover but then again it all depends what you want the dog to do
-
i think the reason for the post was more to do with the type of lad you see with a 80lb bull cross on a chain talking shit at a show rather than the dogs they are usualy about 16-20 years old owned dogs about 2-3 weeks and will probably sell up and start keeping budgies or something these are not real dog people and should be treated with contemped not having a go at all young lads who keep working dogs as we all were there once but lets see how many remain in the game and become real dog men

as above but just put your finger though a doc leave or an old bus ticket when your done use finger then just pull ticket back over finger to clean it this is also very green option as you only use minimin amount of paper -
in answer to the original question the easiest way was to pull skin on tail towards backend of pup laytail on flat sevice and then one clean cut with a sharp stanley knifethen let go of skin it will then usuallycover the tip usualy do this when pups are 2-3 days old put pups staight back in with bitch she will clean them up as for the present day you can-not beat owning a bitch that bites the tails of herself ha-ha

-
gimli looking at your profile it looks to me as you are probly shootig around top end of london and into herts i also do a bit around here as i live in north london have seen a big rise in numbers of munties in this area and on one big estate they had a drive and one of the farmers i know attended on that day they accounted for 17 munties and they only used shotguns and AAA shot full permission from land owners and proof of damage caused also needed but you still need to be up close to do the job right apply for your fac or find someone with one to give you a hand

seen these dogs in my youth being used by our local club for the big stuff before the ban most that were pure where dog fighters and as some one has already said cowards when the going got tough there was also a lot with bull blood introduced and a lot of wheaton blood put in but most people stuck to bull types and wheatons as they did the job also seen one crossed to a greyhound a few years back total shit give tonuge on a fox and stood back

That's a hell of a lot of foxs for 1 terrier in a season. What is the dogs working style? Hasn't he got harder with age? My old lakiex bitch got harder and harder every year, though she was only worked to foxes. Too hard for her own good really. Regards, john beleive it or not hes got wiser when young was a very hard dog thougt we would only get a couple of seasons out of him took a lot of stick but by the time he reached his third season steady right up still takes the odd bang but does not tend to get bashed to badly as we only got 2 terriers at the moment and we work them every week can
