keeping dogs indoors does not affect their working ability but were possible keep them outside[not always a option]if kept indoors esapecialy in a family home they tend to become part of the family and this can be very dificult when the time comes to part you got to remember these are working dogs bred to work not to play in the front room with the kids

have tried lots of different remedys including frontline was told by someone on here that he uses benzo benzoate buy it from the chemist dilute 50-50 with warm water put into spray bottle then spray all over dogs and massage into skin making sure you cover them well a 100ml bottle of benzo costs 2 pounds and it was enough for me to do 8 dogs keeps them clear for about 6 weeks a lot cheaper than frontline [by the way send the wife to pick up the benzo as it is also commonly used for crabs]

Single-Handed Fox Killing Terriers
kirstysdad replied to cúagusgiorraí's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
have seen fox killers in most breeds but find it is not usualy the hardest which is best at it but the smartest they just get a knack for it h ad a small russel bitch a few years back who killed a lot of foxes but she would be what i class a bayer if she got the chance to take a hold she would do the job but if charlie was tuckedup tight she would bay all day got a red dog at the minute has killed a lot of foxes big dog but not hard and hes the first terrier i have had that has killed foxes to ground then drew them straight out has done this in some deep places aswell and he is now 9 years old -
got my 2 collars and 2 sets of terrier couplers this morning exactly what i wanted as for ss a true gent no sales pitch he even threw in a couple of slip leads top man have used every type of lead and collar in last 35 years nothing comes close to these buy one now if you can well worth the money

1.ARSENAL 2.dont matter 3.dont matter fact man u fans are the riches in the land as they have to travel between 50-100 miles to attend a home game lol
-
firstly what do you want the pup to work secondly what does the bitch work read in one of your replys you are looking for a dog that is darker hopfully thats not your top priority and also any one with a good working should only be putting it across good working stuff hence my second point.

willy the wheaten up date at 4 and a half months old
kirstysdad replied to a topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Hows it going lee,i was only thinking to myself the other day who else had a wheaten and then i clicked it was you!,Yeah he is a handfull but i have found he's a pretty quick learner, looks like i will be pm'ing you for advice mate, happy hunting hunterside. nice looking pup where you get it from as for the colouring a lot of wheaten pups have black guard hairs as pups but this grows out as for your dog lee she was nearly black when she arrived from ireland remember her well and with in a year she was nearly white but i think that was all the stress lol -
local paper a few years back had photo of rspca trying to catch a muntie on highgate hill what a farce all they were trying with nets and tried to corner it all they needed was a good lurcher
-
i know those streets and see them all the time all the locals complain about them eating their plants also the same area is covered in foxes and i mean decent big red ones ring neck parrots muntjac within 5 miles of the city of london i live in london next to the arsenal ground and we have foxes in my street every night 10 years ago you would be lucky to see them this far into the city now you see them every day used to drive my terriers mad they could smell them all the time now they only kick of if one comes though the garden

had a small black bitch bred of good stuff but would do what you described and just lay their looking at the gear but not mixing or baying as some one said earlier dosnt matter with todays locators but what happens when your kit breaks in the feild and a silent dog is to ground thats why these dogs were called sounders that was their job as for bitch mentioned above tried her a few times but still the same not my cup of tea so she had to go dont know if size had anything to do with it but sheas a small bitch and very slight built though saying that have had small dog before who made plenty of
