They are rot boxes and Nissan won't offer a chassis treatment like they are now doing with the rotten nivaras which haven't snapped.

You get out what you put in. It's not hard work but they need looking in on a regular basis. Health checks and varroa treatments. Swarm control, emergency feeding, record keeping etc
There's a bit more to it than putting bees in a box and leaving them to it.
Beekeepers in my area have struggled this year due to the wet weather and the prolonged June gap. The bees haven't been able to get out to forage and the plants haven't yielded sufficient nectar. This has led to feeding the bees more than usual.

If your doing blackberry jam here's the crack mate .....
Weigh the blackberries and add the same amount of sugar, add the juice of a lemon (1 lemon per 2kg)
Boil for at least 45 mins
Make sure everything is spotlessly clean and sterilised, don't touch the inside of the jars as any bacteria will make the jam go mouldy.
You only need to get the temperature to 105 degrees C. That's the magic number and setting point.

From the digging around that's been done. it's a fairly common fault. Just one of the many niggles they are trying to iron out. But nowhere near as bad as the issues they had with the mk1.
