  1. Very well buddy. Good to see your performing I hadnt seen a hedgehog up by us in maybe over 5yrs or so untill a month or so ago, one mosied across our garden one night, we were very surprised. Probably not as surprised as the one we found in the dog run with our german shepard, poor little fecker but it was released a little shaken but well. Dont see many about nowadays as i did as a kid, nowhere near the same numbers. On most of my shoots we see abundant numbers of badgers and the odd fox or two but its rare we stumble across a hedgehog. atb
  2. 13 bunnys nice one matey. If you look at it like this, its a bunny for each minuet you had to wait for your log no:, you whinging swine
  3. I would say thats the way to go john, i use this method with all flavours of hardwoods. If you cut before seasoning, the fresh timber is prone to splitting, warping and gathering mould. You will have to remove more of the material with a planer/thicknesser to achive a good workable blank. When seasoning make sure your timber gets plenty of air, the more wind the better, it will dry in no time.
  4. Season then cut. to answer. The timber will be harder to cut when seasoned, but in short lengths you will struggle to keep it from splitting and miss shaping and warping. A tightgrained hardwood is less prone to split and warp but if it dries too fast it certainly will. If you have a good length with bark still on, cover each end with candle wax to stop moisture escaping. This will ensure that the ends dont split as it dries. If you notice a split occouring after waxing, re-wax and seal to stop the split progressing. Store your length( )in a sheltered but yet aired place outside, bu
  5. Why would you need a reason? Did your mother not teach you to tell the truth?? There you go then, reason enough!! Tell them to politley get f****d and you will not be supporting their charity as they are the biggest set of lying crooks going. May not go down too well but often enough the truth hurts.
  6. If you get your local authority to sort it, make sure they give you a full treatment, I know my LA only do one dose free of charge. So much for free treatment, kind of got you by the balls really.

  8. Culling pigeons on farms is a whole different kettle of fish!! As they roost, perch and scavenge they constantly shite everywhere, contaminating animal feeds and bedding. Not to mention crop protection .Culling on farms also reduces harbourage which in turn lowers a good population getting established. This would be acceptable for control under the general licence. Forget what somebody else said or did on some old video/DVD, its your knackers for the chop if it ever came to prosecution and im sure that " well john darling did it " wouldnt be much of a defence. Back to the question, You wo
  9. Top job there buddy and a good read. atb matey
  10. what would you say the light intensity is like for mooching? I know buster has said you can pick out the eyes but is the light intense enough to see what is underfoot? As and when you need it?Having never used a green light. Any ideas on the batterys, charging and use life from the batterys? Looks a good alternative but before i shell out any brass i want to make sure it will work for me, not to mention the shipping from the US at the moment is fooking mad. Not ranting just asking
  11. Mild green fairy liquid, everytime But surley after you have whittled away, you have re-sharpened and honed your edge? What are the sticks for you are whittling??
  12. Almost any oil will do for protecting your gun metalwork and blueing. Engine, hydraulic, mineral, synthetic, or plain old veg oil. If you want to be really porsh you could use extra virgin . Dont be fooled and reeled in by the branding of such likes as napier. cooking oil is a winner on stocks if applied well with a fine wire wool, obviously not on varnished or a laquered finnished wood. Just make sure your metalwork is clean and dry before applying any oil as to not trap any moisture. The only thing is that the thicker the oil, the more shit will cling to it and will require more cleanin
  13. Aye, but most folk know what they read in the sun is shite
  14. Bethel rhodes do supply KG and are a hell of a lot cheaper than KG, you will save more than half per trap A fiver a trap, plus vat OUCH!!
  15. Mine get plenty of rabbit, always with the heads left on, this is the first to go. I do suppliment with chudleys ferret jock during breeding. With some of my jills i find the chudleys goes before the fresh rabbit. When feeding a complete dry food your ferrets will drink more water. Mine also get alot of table scraps, they eat pretty much anything except moles!! I think a varied diet is a winner.Including fresh duck eggs.
  16. I have a slight feeling ive been a little missunderstood. I am fully aware of the financial outlays needed to undertake a Professional pest control contract. LOL it comes down to the PRO word once again on this forum. I know nothing about the job the lad is asking advice for, i dont know how much he has put in for it nor do i know wheather its a one off or he has a £4000 a year contract?? I was simply highlighting the costs that a hundred traps plus, plus boxes/tunnels would set you back. An eye opener if you like. As to a healthy discount i have yet to be convinced of that from
  17. 100+ traps all well if you work for a multi national. Victor pro's or equivilent £300+ per 100 approx Fenn's or equivilent £800+ per 100 approx plus tunnels Thats a fair outlay for the job if you have not got them already.
  18. PM me, im not far from you, if you can meet me i will drop you some off. As long as your not making twenty larsens
  19. I use shavings to put down in the bottom of the bed and run followed by a mixture of good clean straw and meadow hay. Topped off with the odd rabbit carcass for the jill to use as down. Just stick it in and the jill will take and use what she needs. Clean shredded paper is also a good alternative. Avoid sawdust and prepacked hay from places such as jolleys etc, far too dusty and can cause eye and respiratory irritation in both ferrets young and old. always worked for me
  20. I will pm you some usefull links and information but will have to get them from another pc first, I will be in touch
