  2. Thats very smart, certainly would control the mess being behind glass. How was it ventilated? and could you hear the birds sing?
  3. I will second that. Twenty quid well spent. No re-enforced knees but they are tough, waterproof and take some hammer.
  4. If you can find an out of sight run upon the banking, ideally under or around the pontoon then set a mk6 fenn or bodygrip within a tunnel, no baiting required, but make sure you restrict the size of the entrances to the tunnel. Alternatively you can dig in or chain down and cover well a cage trap. Again you may not need to bait but if you do use fresh chicken/fish, there isnt much need in trying to use off food. Mink are naturaly inquisitive and will check out your tunnel/cage out of interest. The only thing that maybe an issue is the lack of cover or banking with good runs, although they
  5. I bet you are all glad hes not in your area but he is in mine, and yes agric pest control is how i pay my mortgage and feed my kids. Not many farms up here are willing to pay you for clearing rabbits but all the other services you list on your website are chargeable services from myself and other lads in this area. Dont mind you getting permission but taking the clothes off my back is a whole different matter. Lets just hope you dont get taken too seriously, how are you going to control a serious mouse infestation with your air rifle? As to free molecatching your having a laugh, your lik
  6. Firstly other than shooting the trapped animal there isnt any other form of humane dispatch without removing it from the cage and handling it, which in many cases would not be advisable. Secondly, the aim is to corner/pin down the animal and hold it steady to enable you to perform a clean and quick kill. The use of a pair of cage combs allows you force the trapped animal back to the end of the cage and hold it there for dispatch. Drowning is not a form of humane dispatch. You could always employ the GWCT,s approach and blast it with a shotgun from ten paces. Effective but not s
  7. If you can not safely and humanely dispatch a cage trapped animal you should not be setting cages in the first place!! Why would you be putting your hand in a cage to handle to grab hold of the live squirrel? and even the mention of a vet for dispatch There are ways to corner an animal within a cage trap and hold it steady in order to perform a clean, safe and humane dispatch. He deserves the fine for his ignorance

  10. Sorry buddy, welcome to the thumb callus club Over time you will develop a numb spot in the centre of your thumb. It seems everybody is blowing smoke up flatpacks arse at the moment, i am not really a fan of their traps but some advice i can give for setting their traps is; dont use the top bar to force the spring down into the setting position. Over time it will weaken and bend due to the pressure of the spring. Flatpacks traps are ok as in build quality but the ones i have had in the past have been very hard to tweak, as to the traps coming already tweaked leaves a lot to de de
  11. Trapped this squirrel the other day. What do you make of these nipples? Abcessess with in the milk duct's that have popped?
  12. Firstly i would not accept the denial of trespass from the inspector, get back on the phone and demand a plausable explanation as to why he/she trespassed. I am assuming that the calling card was left within the boundry of the property you were working? ie card on trap = trespass. Your client can only make this complaint. If they have trespassed and deactivated your traps you can make a complaint for tampering with your cages. A complaint on both counts is all it will ever ammount to. Secondly although the inspector left a card and alegedly trespassed somebody must have alerted them
  13. Your tunnel traps would not work well in Ilkley, Steeton/silsden, Keighley, Skipton and local surrounding areas. However my traps work in most situations within these areas and have worked well for a good number of years. Happy trapping in leeds.

  20. a hundred and eighty euros for a rapid mk11 hmmmmm The contact details are for a place in cyprus. I have a feeling that if you send any payment out you will not be seeing it again, or your goods. If something is too good to be true your genrally going to have your pants pulled down.
  21. Whilst out on my daily exploits of sneaking about the fields and worrying sheep i stumbled upon a little owl (i think?)and her brood spying at me from a hollow within an old alder tree. The hole was only 5ft up but the entrance to the cavity was a good 8ft or so up. A nice surprise and not something you regularly come across. I returned again this morning to continue with my sneaky sheep worrying and found this little fella down on the ground at the base of the tree. Couldnt resist a couple of pics before i returned it back to the safety of the hollow and away from the onlooking crows.
