Jasper, this has really touched a nerve for you hasnt it!!! There is land i work which does not have many rabbits but the hare population is healthy, i wont say much more because the bull cross brigade would have a hard on if they only knew They still need controling, all be it with a suitable air rifle if the shot arises, which more than often does. A well placed shot will drop a hare equally as well as it would a rabbit, no bother. So i dont see a problem. I am on the fence here a little as a few of my good friends dont agree with shooting hares but they are seasoned dog lads, set in th

Thanks for the comments lads. Back on the paddock tonight, booked in with the old bill for half eight, mounted the lamp up and away i went, without a coat!! (well it was warm!!) Using the red filter the rabbits just sat, making for easy pickings. The odd couple hot footed away but the rest just sat and waited their turn. The going was good for the first 10 mins, then on cue a flash of lightning and the heavens opened and it absolutely tipped it down. Managed another couple until visibility became nil through the scope, game over. I hadnt wandered very far so most of the bag were lying with

Well eight to be precise before anybody says i cant count Last friday saw me out with the s10 scouting roughly 5 acre of horse paddock before we ferret it next week and mop up the remainder with traps. The land has a good population with a considerable ammount of warrens, counting at least 50-60 rabbits across the land at 10am. All these rabbits have seen is horses and have never encountered anybody with a gun before, they are as green as they come, making for some easy shooting. We are waiting for the wind to pick up one night this week and will hit it with the lamp before we polish t

Dont have gas central heating so ours is rarely out, does the radiators and hot water. It can be a shitter when its warm outside but you cant beat it

Our rabbits regularly go to local butchers who buy in ammounts of tens or twentys, always fresh, gutted and skinned for around £2 to £2.50. I am trying to get this price increased without pissing the butchers off as they sell the rabbits for almost double what they pay me.

I am after a couple of trout for a bbq this weekend coming. I will pay or swap for frozen rabbits. Fishing isnt my thing so im hoping one of you lads will help me out.
