  1. You wont have to do it everytime but its a good idea every so often to charge from a low state.
  2. It all depends on the type of battery, if you dont run the battery down over time your battery will develop a memory and slowly become fecked, ( you know, it think its fully charged but it isnt because its trying to fully charge from half full ) Running the battery right down then recharging slowly will improve the life

  4. A trickle charger or slow charge is always best.
  5. Get yourself either a 12v/6v bulb and a bit of wire and do it that way, or get a similar voltage appliance ie a car tyre pump and use that. Are you trying to stop battery memory?
  6. All replacement hoses have been posted out to those concerned. This time recorded delivery. If the origional hoses turn up please post them back to me. Thanks to royal mail i am now £68 out of pocket, theiving useless twats!! Lesson to all, if your going to post something, make sure you get proof to avoid all the shite this has caused. I have 6 hoses left but unfortunately no offers can be done on multi buys. £6.50 posted recorded delivery. Cheers, mick
  7. You dont need hazel to make pegs, most woods will do. hazel is a prefered timber because its straight grained and easy to work with. Ash is another fairly straight grained timber which will split easy and remain strong. Beech, oak, holly, eucalyptus will all do, etc etc
  8. Still wont let me pm you, send me your phone number please
  9. I will post out another tommorow, recorded delivery this time. psm, for some reason i cant pm you, it keeps saying you can not receive any messages. That is five of the feckers that havent turned up and its hard work trying to get a response from royal mail. Apologies to all for any inconvenience.

  11. It would be an idea if your going to do agric fencing and try make some brass, you wont be braying in 6" + strainer posts with lump hammer, if you do you wont be doing so many
  12. Try a gun mounted lamp with a red filter
  13. Thats a good price, around half the price of a new one. Best of luck with the sale
  14. What is the visual population, ie an hour out with a lamp?
  15. Getting rats on bait sometimes takes time, as for getting them in cages is another matter. They may take a little warming to the introduction of new bait let alone entering a cage. You need to have a look at what the current foodsource is, you can then make your asumptions as to change it. I deal with the rats on a few dairy farms where the foodsource is abundant, i have tried the all singing all dancing, new fandangled flavoured baits but have found that simple grain is the best. Whereas i have done a chinese takeaway and they couldnt get enough of the flavoured superbait. Just keep y
  16. Gonetoearth has made a fair point there and one thats well worth thinking about, Before you start with grand ideas and as other lads on here who make ferret boxes will tell you, price up your gear, work out how much time you have invested in making the boxes and put a price on that, find out what folk are willing to pay and then work out how much is left in it for you and your efforts!! You may be surprised to find that its the best part of feck all. Unless you can mass produce them and have a good product at the end of it ,you wont make much money. Am i saying this to put you off??
  17. over time i have sourced my materials from local suppliers in my area including the webbing for the straps, alternatively you can use car seat belts for carry straps. You may get it free and its the best gear. I use bolts to fix the straps on.
  18. "I am a carpenter" ,id assume your also pissed by the state of your spelling
  19. No i dont use screws on my ferret boxes other than the fittings and if i were to i would certainly pilot. 12mm + is fine for terrier boxes, i use 9mm for ferret boxes because its light. The right choice of ply type will also help and make ease for a strong construction and good finnish
  20. The bow is achieved by using a router and jig and the ply is curved to fit using a jig and other methods to make it workable. I have made countless boxes that have ended up in the bin with a lot of swearing and dissapointment. trial and error is the way forward untill you get an idea as to how the pieces fit togeather. 9mm isnt the easiest to work with but it can be done
  21. Catches are from a local hardware supplier.
