  1. oh bollox, i must read posts first before replying have a bump on me
  2. I can see your point but im not sure admin would be willing to back the cause, with all the work needed to set it all up, treasurer, accountant etc etc and then deciding who gets help and money. Let alone pitting The Hunting Life against the judicial system. Court cases cost thousands. Most people can get legal aid anyway, provided you can get a solicitor to fight your case. And truth be told, Many folk who are faced with prosecution probably deserve it and have brought it upon themselves, you just have to sit and watch a good percentage of the fuckwits come and go on here. Granted ther
  3. Your not wrong donky, shooting provides a lttle more entertainment to the job, we shot 800 on one farm over last winter, trapped around the 60 mark and baited the rest off. By no means will it stay clear for long, so lookng forward to next winters visits
  4. If you fold and wrap the draw cord around them thats enough, good practice, never have any problems How many socks do you carry with you???
  5. Mice again!! With some of the things i found in these boxes and the location where they were situated i thought somebody was taking the piss and had words with the bar manager
  6. £6.36 + vat + £8 carrage thats for the trapline
  7. Oh dave dave dave!! There seems to be some magic compulsion with the public, that when they see something poking out of the ground ie the spring arm of a duffus they just cant help themselves and have to pick it up, put it in thier pocket, take it home and perhaps do rude things to themselves with it Why folk cant just leave the feck alone i will never know. Too much soil on top of a half barrel trap will slow the action of the trap and increase the chances of a miss catch or an inhumane kill Trapline or talpex are the favourates
  8. By the standard of your grammar im assuming that you made it only a week or so ago!!
  9. Aye , Moxy's boxes are second to none, even though he's a puff . Its a nightmare, being off this site for a while, i come back to nothing but insults!! Buster your a twat and you were not calling me a puff when i was tying those pink ribbons into yer ginger locks Neither was jackoboy come to think of it
  10. You could use talpex traps, dig them in and then cover to disguise as a molehill, the benefit with these little traps is they work well and the covering over wont imepede the powerfull spring. I would however only put a couple in at a time, you know the saying " all eggs and basket etc etc", because at around six and a half quid a pop if you cant find them cheaper, could soon cause teary eyes!!
  11. Its a shame your giving up gaz, best of luck with your sale
  12. Doubtfull!!! The post is over 2 yrs old but you never know

    log splitter.

Your contraption would have its uses and im certainly not dissmissing it, a nice piece of straight ash or birch and your laughing, it would certainly save your back. I dont have any close ups of my splitter but i can take some to show you how crude it is!! However it does the job and does it well. In the picture is about an hour and halfs splitting, which isnt bad for a single blade. But as you rightly say, No good without a tractor or acres of space.

    log splitter.

My splitter, made from odds and sods, not the best picture but it does the job

    log splitter.

No good for timber with knots and i can see a few tearey eyes untill you get the hang of using it. Mustard, you need to check the pump on your tractor, faster it runs, the faster it rams! I have a single stroke ram splitter which it tractor mounted and it does absolutely fine. Watch this for a bit of kit
  17. ive seen it all now, what a load of crap, And for a tenner plus postage Im very surprised it didnt sell. " NO MORE TANGLED NETS " !! If you put your nets away right in the first place there should not be a problem!! Best of luck with it anyhoo
  18. You are right about the foreign imported copies of various traps, inferior springs and fixings etc, now and again you may get a reasonable batch which can save you a bob or two. You will find that mole traps are exempt from the STAO so thats why the market is flooded with shite

    mesh size

The wife tells me that the extra half inch matters
  20. Have a bump on me, two and a half quid a trap, bargain
  21. Being certified doesent mean your a better molecatcher than the next man nor does any amount of training. You have to be out there up to your elbows in it gaining the experience and know how. You train yourself. As to obtaining " certification" from the "guild" it all costs and thats what it all comes down to. Being a member certainly doesent guarantee anybody work. So why would you not consider yourself a professional? If you are out there doing it then your living the molecatcher dream!!
  22. Maybe the vitara has broken down and he cant get out much
