Good pics fella. I don't do any wild fowling but we get plenty of geese up here crop raiding along the sides of our resovoirs. We shoot the odd few for pest control but in no way the extremes you have and certainly not for the table. Goose or duck isn't for me.
  4. Lol. It's not a duuudlaaay accent is it!! In regards to your pellet choice and keeping it legal is as I'm sure a whole new long winded debate. Well, with you! Lol Best of luck with whatever rifle you choose and I look forward to your reviews. Even if I can't understand the native tounge!! Welcome to the forum. Atb

Good man jay nice post and a good read
  6. I was wondering why do most people seem to state the ft/lbs of a gun with a particular grain weight of pellet? i.e. 11.7ft/lbs @ 13.5gr. James. In answer to your original question. I think most folk state the above as they do is through habit, good practice or ignorance because they don't understand and it's something their mate says. Or that's just the way it is. However. You have just over complicated the whole issue over nothing. As correct as you are with the physics of things and albeit it makes very little odds. You must understand, as clearly you do. That the pel
  7. So why should a different weight of pellet change the mechanical power outputted from the rifle? My suggestion is that is doesn't. It's more the design of the pellet that changes the other measurable variables and therefore the apparent power of the gun, not the actual power of the gun. It won't and it can't. Or if it does. The variable is ever so slight. Put simply. The internal mechanics and engineering of a rifle is machined steel. Which has very little tolerance in movement when shooting a far softer material such as lead. An exception to this would be a fire arm. Which the tole
  8. Who the feck is Lillian? We got ourselves a bit of a YMCA crew going on!?
  9. Get back on their case joe. Which messer have you contacted with your request? I think it's a good idea provided the lads who do the fixing are happy to be pinned and messed about by fuckwits who aren't serious or want it doing for free. However there will be an genuine majority who do want the work doing. Good idea.
  10. I would give it a light sand with a very fine grit paper or wire wool. This should allow the oil to permeate a little better. Make sure it's spotlessly clean before fitting. Depending on the type of leather it may not soften too much But soaking for a while longer wont hurt
  11. I can help you out. If you like. PM me your number. May have the odd thing or two laying about or if not. Can make it up for you. Way cheaper than best fittings.

  18. Cheap electric conduit. Why does it have to be metal. Can't you raid the hedgerows and cut some ash. Willow or hazel stands? Golf flags make a lightweight and fairly strong alternative. If you can get hold of any.

    t bar

I don't think it matters. Just as long as it penetrates under pressure and doesn't bend too much. Nor weighs a ton.
  20. Nice shooting by the way
  21. Recipe Olive oil Garlic Shallots Good wedge of your favourite cheese A fresh crusty roll Gently fry the garlic and shallots in a little oil until golden brown. Toast your crusty roll. Grate your cheese and top the toast and add the garlic and shallots. Lightly grill until the cheese has melted. Serving suggestion would be to let it cool a little as to not burn the inside of your mouth and throw the squirrels in the bin or feed to the ferrets. The squirrels not the cheese on toast!!
