bob i really dont think you know what your on about! dont tell people to up powder charges this leads to increased pressure VERY DANGEROUS! moly has the opposite affect to what you say you have to sometimes lower the powder charge if you look at your post as above in the quote you have stated the correct fact that moly is indeed a efficient lubricant although that is not the intention of moly on bullets or in barrels.the purpose is for the moly to fill in [for want of a better term]the indiscrepancies in the rifling of the barrel.to aid the bullet in its rotation down the barrel this in tur

FFS TRAPPA. do you really get paid for shooting all i get is to sleep with the farmers daughter 4 NIGHTS A WEEK!

so sorry to dissapoint all of you out there but yes i do shoot at a stone wall 50 yds away and yes im still here to tell the tale. if you all knew what i know about high velocity bullets and there out come with said stone wall then you will understand why i can tell the tale.im not advocating anyone else does this just telling you what i do. iv been shooting fire arms for nearly 30 yrs now and think i can make up my own mind and form my own judgment as to what is safe and what is not. i use the wall to see the point of impact with two shots then if needed maybe two more then its onto pape

DICKYBOY. C.O.L.=cartridge overall length. reloading componants a very large and varied list or very simple short list.you can buy a starter kit from lee/hornady/rcbs that contain nearly all the componants to start basic reloading.the most important thing though is to watch someone with experience load ammo.they can show you the steps to make your own ammo. as for your f.a.c no you dont have to declare you will be reloading.

most if not all moderators are designed for the amount of powder burned in the barrel so 1 moderator can fit more than one caliber/rifle.i have one thats on a 20 cal rifle and is going to be used on a 17 fb it also fits a 17 rem i have.take the moderator to a gun smith/rifle builder and they can adapt it with differant bushings to fit more than one rifle of course the threading on the barrel has to be the same.

V-MAX do you speak from experience?in my humble opinion it works because i could be bothered to go ahead and try it and followed the instructions given to me by a top rifle builder. if you tried it and it didnt work then dont piss on the parade.as for removing moly from a barrel it can be done i know because i did it .and its not just a match/benchrest thing its for any one who wants to improve the accuracy of a rifle just like bedding the action or floating the barrel we can/should use all means at our disposal to make what can be a mediocre out of the box rifle shoot to its upmost its pa

lurcherchav how do you kill a fox with a whistle? big red.you cant beat a good hand job!
-
BOBBY. the tenterfield is acopy of the ANDRE GEORGIESCU fox whistle. 1/ hold whistle in mouth with hole inside mouth. 2/get the tip of your tongue as close to the hole[on top not below] . 3/exhale through your throat dont blow its as though your coughing. with a bit of practice you will get the hang of it they are very good for long range calling i have one had it for 4 yrs now and are very good. cheers garyw

sako wont fit tikka the action screws are in differant places i think mcmillan do a tikka stock but it will be expensive.

LUKE. using sticks will not affect the zero point of the rifle bad technique will.with sticks its about getting a repeatable style so every shot is the same, practice as much as you can.light weight home made sticks are free and are an advantage in many situations.all my rifles also have harris bi-pods on them so if theres a post or wall etc. then the sticks can be put down while the shot is taken.if your in the middle of a field with no other means of a rest then the sticks save the day. garyw

the one shot zero is not easy you have to bore sight the rifle first by looking down the barrel[bolt out of course]line the bore up with your chosen target a cross or dot or what ever make sure the rifle is securly held down[get the wife to sit on it] make the first shot.the rifle should not move at all,you then have to adjust the scope to get the cross hair/dot or what ever to line up with the bullet hole. this sounds easy but its a pain in the ar*e.i find the best way is to fire 2 shots at a point of aim on a stone wall 50yds away this will show where the bullets are shooting in relation

garyw replied to harrycatcat's topic in Driven, Walked Up, Rough Shooting
HARRYCAT i would take that statement with a pinch of salt maybe 200 birds down not 1200 if its true which it aint then ill take 3 guns for the season.it will cost more in feed than the fees.do you realise how much feed into how many hoppers you will need for 1200 birds, you will be surprised! :hmm: -
JAMES. if you want a small amount to look at or even try in your rifle send me your address via pm. and ill post some to you im in leeds.you only need a small amount to do 1 barrel if you dont want to use it bin it.i got mine from TIM HANNAM reloading supplies they have a website up and running now. cheers garyw

you will probably have to submit in writing your new permission with a letter from the land owner/agent/farmer who holds the shooting rights for deer.if its already passed for deer and the relavant calibre then you shouldnt have a problem.ask your fao.to grant you an open ticket while your at it. good luck

CRACK HIM OVER THE HEAD WITH IT MIGHT NOT BRING IT OFF BUT YOULL ENJOY TRYING.

james. if you dont want to moly bullets then buy somesuper moly bore cream made by lyman.its easy to use and ithink is better than doing the bullets this allows you to shoot bullets naked[no moly on].it shrank the groups on a 223 i had and reduced fouling.im just doing a barrel for a mate on a 243 because it fouls quickly this will reduce fouling quite a bit and shrink his grouping.

VADER. as john galway says look at starlight the guy who is the main man julian is a great bloke to deal with he sorted a archer i bought and tweaked it for me its on a 17 rem and foxes out to 150yds are regular.i wish id got one a few years ago.
