    easiest way to id a fox is to shout out very loudly "ARE YOU A FOX"? this may seem stupid but a fox is not stupid so it wont reply if it did it would give its self away! they are crafty them foxes.

    TRAPPA.on the flip side of your post iv just been on the phone to a keeper mate of mine who is going away tonight[up to scotland for 2 weeks of fishing and :drink: the jammy fecker with a keeper mate of his].any way while doing his rounds today he has found some cubs in a small wood where one of his release pens is,so he asked me to go tonight and see what emerges so its out with the nv to ambush them.so off i go at 8.oo when my mate turns up.

    trappa.good post there.i shoot a lot of foxes all year round but if farmer giles wants them leaving then they get left. on one of my spots the land is divided by two large farms one side has a large pheasant shoot and i shoot 20-30 foxes every year there.the other side im allowed on to shoot rabitts/pigeons/squirrel/crows.but foxes are a no-no the family is steeped in hunting and still hunt to this day so i have to respect that fact.but on the other side of the hedge its a differant ball game.

    got one on a new 17 furball its a good scope for the ££ the gun shop i bought it at the lad behind the counter who i know very well has the same scope on a 243AI and cant rate it highly enough.as for me well i havent been let down yet with it,at night its a good lamping scope not the best but for your hard earned £££ its a winner.

    s/s no the hand held and scope mounted lights are on differant mountings you will have to bite the bullet and buy one!

    dickyboy as john g says and more iv got my leupold on a annie17hmr at the moment with the archer on that its an awsome bunny basher was out on wed night and scored 12 bunnies for 14 shots on the same grass field furthest was 90yds nearest 45yds .had the same set up on a 17rem and that sorted charlie out to 150yds,as julian at starlight says leupold are the best for the archer and if you get rid of the archer you still have a top scope. dont be shy get out and buy!

    get yourself a cooper in 20tactical based on the 223 case necked down to 20cal.iv got a custom 20 that out shoots all the 22 c/f.you wont be sorry.

    john.iv had a A.G. whistle for 4 yrs now i got mine free with his first foxing video now that was a bargain. the secret i feel is to get your tongue as near to the hole as you can without blocking it,and get it into your mouth as far as you can so you can just hold the outer edge of it. as the instructions tell you dont blow-ehxale you will get the hang of it sooner than you think.try to keep the inside of the whistle dry if it blocks up with spit blow it clean. if you practice do it outside or like me you will get the dogs howling and the wife telling you to "feck off with whistle". whe

    iv had a few scopes off jsr a few years back only for air guns though you could pick them up from a garage just down the road from there depot a bit odd but it worked .as for todays scopes cant comment but the service i had was spot on so i suppose thats a starting point.

    the problem is not just the confusing laws and conditions re: firearms but also the f.a.o they are usually just a civvy with a badge and we know what happens when you give someone a badge or uniform they in my opinion should be ex-services or ex-police officers. my own f.a.o is ex- army he was a armaments[spelling?]officer who also shot in competition for the army so there is not a lot he doesnt know.he is aiways available on the phone if you have a problem and will always phone you back if he misses your call.he sorted a problem out for me for a variation on my f.a.c for a 20 cal rifle becau

    get help off someone who reloads the local gun shops will sell you all sorts of shi* you dont need!as for reloding dont try it alone if you have never reloaded before its to say the least dodgy you are after all making a very small bomb when reloading dont be afraid to ask for help ther are plenty of folk in your neck of the woods who will help you.good luck

    ok john lets start in order of your ?. 1/i got c grade didnt see a lot of differance between the others .pick the one with the least amount of dark spots on the image mine has 2 and both are on the edge of the image. 2/laser on mine havnt tried it with the lamp but then again if your on your own that would be a lot of messing about.if your 2 men lamping then again the lamp has to be where you want it to be,id say solo is the best way iv found that to be the case up to now.that doesnt mean you dont need 2 men it still works i will scan the fields first[with the archer] to see if theres owt ab

    get the dog and vixen first then deal with the cubs.the cubs will not wander if you cant do them at the same time,try day time first but if shooting them get the wind into your face and wear some good cammo.

    neil sorry i answered the question in the wrong context i meant that a fox will take the tongue as well as the rest of a carcass.
