    410Phil at the moment im using my mini colibri alternating the hare distress and rabbitt squeel i have shot 6foxes in 5 nights with my .17rem with this set up.

    its not nailed on if they have cashed your chq how do you think the chief constable pays for his jollies? seriously-i had mine cashed once when put in for a variation and like you thought anyday now my ticket would be back 2 weeks went by and nothing,so got on the dog and asked about my variation.i was told that i had been refused and a letter was on its way telling me why.when i explained about the chq i got silence "can i prove the chq has been cashed?"asked the voice-"yes i have my bank statement in my hand and a phone call will also determine who the chq was accepted by" "err-can we

    as of last saturday we are not shooting the 3 ponds on our shoot until the weather improves.what we have done is to keep the ice open and feed regular with this we hope to pull a few more in.we are having a look tommorow to see if our efforts are worth it-they should be. gary

    absolutely fine if you have no land of your own-but the whole set up is geared towards mr.nppc[name with held] and his mates getting the best shooting,you will do a lot of leg work for little reward i shall say no more.

    death boy all the bad news about the.17 in any form is usually from those that have never had one dont listen to the armchair experts-any we will put this to bed-whatever calibre you choose do a lot of research and get things right first time. atb gary

    ERIC.i think you should think long and hard about your miracle hmr,i dont want to pi*s on your parade but iv heard it too many times before about how good the hmr is on foxes.as i have said i stopped shooting foxes with mine and sold it 3 months ago.the hmr is a good bunny gun and thats it,the small17-20 grain bullet does not have enough energy past 100 yds for fox and as for head shooting them past that distance well?any way if your happy all well and good,at least i admit to getting it wrong,and i have moved on from it.

    yeah the hmr's, im guessing your not a fan of them! i personally find them a good round but useless if its windy! was a fan till i found that many a fox would not play dead when it was shot further than -90yds away.so i stopped shooting foxes with the hmr but if you can kill them at 180yds with the hmr then your a better man than me.i will stick to what i know works in the real world.

    Go with a .17 mate as for starters there not a centrefire and secondly for a rabbiting/foxing round then that fat cased and tiny little bullet does aworth while amount of damage in the right hands, ive shot and seen foxes shot out to 180yds stone dead so that little bullet packs a punch. the only downside with them for the rabbits is you cant reduce the sonic crack of it, yes theres some good silencers but none of them reduce the noise too much because of the speed of the bullet! anyway its your choice and listen to people who have used this calibre.     a sad day today had to get sam my old mate[the staff in my avatar] put to sleep after fighting against liver cancer for the last 10 months. he wasnt a working terrier but he was a every day walk along hard as nails staff.never shirked a scrap even with my mates horse-my two kids grew up with him and after one week short of him being 15yrs old he didnt have any fight left in him. a few tears were shed- well a lot of tears for such a nice specimine of the breed. goodnight mate.
