  1. just another vid of me dog doing not very much, although a wee while after this he did put up a hare
  2. yeah mate pretty much the same languege with just a few differences, and I can even understand people from donegal when they speak cos they sound exactly the same as us up here. Of topic I know so my apologies
  3. Could we see pics please, love airedales
  4. yeah thought it did mate, can speak scottish gaelic, just trying to learn some irish gaelige, so obviously its working
  5. I tend to agree with cuagusgiorra(btw does that mean dog and a hare) there are dogs that could take on a cougar but not a 200lb prime health animal and come out with barely a scratch(which is what the picture seems to show) any how nice dogs, just no need for the overstatments
  6. do they smell bad? I have only ever seen a fox 4 times would be good if we had some up here
  7. Hi there, this may seem like a daft question but I need to ask it, what did all those hunters who caught foxes do with them once caught? I mean you can eat rabbit hare deer ect but not fox! There are no foxes up here in the outer hebridies so will never have the joy of deciding what to do with a caught fox cheers John
  8. some things I have noticed with my own dog (full staffy/irish staff) is that now at 2 years old he is starting to become aggressive with some other dogs but not all, and this is where it can get confusing, he is ok with labs but hates german sheps and collies, also ok with little dogs often ignoring them completely, he is also alot more agressive when he is on the leash, as a result the only dogs I can have him(totally carefree) around are my mates lurcher bitch and patterdale, everything else would have to be so closely monitored it would be a pain in the arse. Now this dog was brought up wel
  9. I wonder if it was up in shetland, cos I have seen pics of them dogs and they have caught blue hare, so it can be done
  10. neither am I im just out and about and I take the mutt with me, its not hardcore lurcher work, we had a lab pointer who caught a blue twice in his time, I also seen pics of staffs up in shetland on a blue hare, again not gona manage it 9 times out of ten but its a possibility
  11. and btw I do believe he is a good wee hunting dog just with limitations such as he will never catch a coursed brown hare(we dont have them here anyway) but he could catch a mountain hare if he hunts smart, and like I said he has caught rabbits rats and even a full grown goose, so what if my dog dosent come up to you're standards whatever they may be, I am happy enough with him.
  12. I dont see him chasin deer for a half hour, I said he was on a run for a half hour, I see the deer, I see the dog chase the deer, I see the deer power away from the dog, I see my dog come back 30 to 40 minutes later completely screwed(5 minutes later though he is up and hunting again), also its moorland with coniferous woodland so I see the deer fairly close up at times so I often see the first couple of minutes, why so sceptical mate? I never made any claims for the dog, if u dont like it dont post or complain to admin, otherwise you come across as a bit of a turd.
  13. just a quick video, nothing special or illegal
  14. dont want any more from him mate, just saying thats what he did, what the post was intended to suggest was that he seems to buck any trend that bull breeds have towards a lack of stamina, will post a couple of videos of him when I can
  15. well from what I have seen I would say they are, he can easily jump a 5ft gate, suppose if I could add anything it would be a wee bit more leg and some turning ability, but then again I could just get a lurcher haha
  16. my dog is a bit of a staffie mutt really his dad was a kc dog but a bit bigger than average, the bitch came over from ireland and was a leggy dog, so not sure about his lines, seems to want to hunt all the time though, runs beside me on the bike a couple times a week too, so I would say he is in good condidtion, only thing is he is as blind as a bat a rabbit could be 10 feet away and if he dosent sent it it dosent exist, would love to have a pup out of him cos he is a great wee dog with people to but no one else up here really interested in hunting (all sheep dogs and crofters)
  17. Ok I have seen this pop up on various occassions, and would like to have a wee say on it, I have a large staffie bout 20inches and 50lbs(kept in trim) he is a great wee dog with a super nose on him, and has caught various stuff including a few rabbits, rats, this years grouse and even a full grown goose, however his main joy in life is chasing deer (never a hope in hell of even getting near one) but he gives it his all, now the other day we were out on the hills as usual and he had 4 runs on deer each lasting about a half hour(i am not hunting deer, btw just loads around up here and miles away
  18. jez I love the look of that brindle bitch
  19. Hi looking for any upcoming pups of the afore mentioned breeding, must be in scotland and preferably the highlands, willing to pay up to £200 for the right pup, pup will be going to a working home. Not essential that I get a pup straight away as im looking for the right dog not any dog cheers John
  20. but you see they wont get a slap on the wrist because of who they are for one, and because off all the "proof" against them!
  21. right first things first, these people are not gypsies, they are what is left of the highland traveller tradition, secondly the way the sun wrote that peice should be f*****g investigated it smacks or thinly veiled racisim, or bigotry at the very least, the hare kill was the spark that gave them the "right" to print bile about a people often on the edge of society, they are not angels but nor are the the devils that they are often portrayed as,thirdly they ate the f*****g hares and as far as I am concerned if its for the pot you should be allowed to take whatever you can get. The guys on the p
