  1. Hi, No have been thinking about it, what did they turn out like?? how hard was it to do? Cheers HTS
  2. yeah ok i knew i was going to get an answer similar to that! I have looked through the general licence's and no comment is made on the general licence as to using electronic callers! as usual it seems a pointless legality! did not want to get on ya about the caller but that they are banned along with other things such as mirrors or any thing that blinds the birds. check out the wildlife act 1981 sos HTS
  3. you can buy nearly anything don't mean that you can use it though!! if you read the Inst you will find it says only for photos!! alot of people use them but they are not leagal for shooting!! HTS
  4. Cheers Mate! that will make them come in HTS
  5. I should have had a look at the net before buying them, they do fly but the wind has to be constant and at least 20mph, if the wind drops then they come down fast if the wind picks up before they hit the floor then, they will fly back up and then stay up. if they touch the ground even if it is a drilled crop they will not start flying by them selfs you then have to throw them up again. HTS
  6. Hi Foxkiller, Thanks for the Tip don't suppose you know were on the WWW you would find something like that! the problem with finding it with my PC is 60 cm in front of it. Cheers HTS

  11. Hi , Here are some of the PDF's that I use to teach the Germans about Pigeon shooting, hope you can see them . you always have to try to get the wind behind you, then the birds will come straight at you if you can also get the sun behind you then all the better . you would be better off if you bought a net that was at least 6m long and about 1.6-1.8 Meters high then you can adjust the net to any situation that you will come accross and 5 poles you can see in the 2nd PDF how I set it up the green flap is roof over hide bit or protection against the sun and wind. Hope that help
  12. Hi, you are always better off if you get the poles and the net, then you can adjust the hide to the situation if you buy the fold out type then you can't vary the length and the hight. phone up Matt at the UK shoot warehouse. http://www.ukshootwarehouse.co.uk/ Cheers HTS
  13. you should try and get hold of a decoy owl and put it in the window or an opening in the barn on the farm, get one with moving wings either by pulling on a string or using batteries. the crows will land in the trees nearby in sight of the owl, you can either sit in a hide or in the barn depending on your air rifle and the amount of trees. your need to open the windows or build the hide at least a week before you set up to shoot you could also cut up a plastic bag and hang that in the tree the flapping of the bag will attract the crows. the best decoy you can get is a dead crow hanging by a l

  15. Hi Snareman, Thanks for the info! do you also know the best way to set them up?? HTs we have been using those bodygrip traps since the 90,s , the magnum trap company is the supplier and distributer in the uk , their advert is on this site , robin tarrant is the owner of the company ,
  16. Hi, does anybody out there use this sort of trap? they can be bought in all sizes from small for rats up to large for Foxes . interested to see if they are used in the UK Thanks H.T.S
  17. Hi, when I set up I normally use 2 flappers up on 6 foot of spring steel with a diamerter of 6mm it will hold the flapper and a pigeon, all you have to do is lengthen the cable so that the speed regulator and batterie can be hidden under some earth. The 2 flappers should be placed about 7m (15 foot) appart and about 2m (6foot) between them, I also use the magnet but I put 2 tesco plastic bags on there and place the magnet at the other side of the field. first of all it does'en P..s me off turning in the corner of my eye and second it stops the Pigeons landing where the always do ON THE OTH
  18. has anybody filmed the action while they have been out shooting Crows /Pigeons?? I am living in Germany and have been asked to do a presentation PP about crow and Pigeon shooting, I would be puting the film or short clip into the presentation. International recognition is garantied. or know how to get the films of or You Tube as I have no internet access cheers HTS
  19. Hi, the pop ups are quite good if you are decoying from the front. or if you are Roost shooting under a tree. if not then there is only one sort of pop up that is any good and it is the one that looks like one of the large bales with a removable roof, if you use this one then you can shoot all round and still be hidden. you will have to be able to shoot sitting down to gain the full advantage of this pop up otherwise there is too much movement and the pigeons that follow will turn away. the best bit of kit is the net and 5 poles you can adjust and build the hides to fit any position an
  20. Hi Paul, the problem is that when the Pigeons are in close nearly everyone shoots at them! MY Grandfather told me that if a pigeon is in close think that the pigeon has a beak like a Heron and then shoot at the tip, worked for me . I am living in Germany at the moment and teach about decoying as nobody does that over here has even heard of a rotary after teaching the main question that is asked is about lead and that is always my answer. give it a go, think you might improve, my best day was 146 pigeons and 167 shots. hope it helps and hit them clean HTS
