  1. you really do not understand. it is all ilegal and unless the terrier that have worked badger across the pond as you put it are 37 years old then what you posted is still inapropriate. I personally wouod welcome a ban on the export of all working terriers outside of the united kingdom and Ireland, if only to stop the bastardisation of breeds with a truly unique and rich heritage. I am wondering what pond the dog crossed as well as is it against the law everywhere to hunt badger on the planet ? This is all things to think about before jumping on some one for a extra post count o
  2. According to Chuck Hawks the recoil is a lot more than the 30-06, but if you can handle that 9.3x74 the 300 WSM will be a pussycat. Google in "300 WSM recoil" and you'll find some links that may help. RicW Hi, the 9,3 is not that bad it is quite easy on the shoulder when shooting. thanks for the replies HTS the 9,3 is not that bad
  3. thanks for all the answers, they have both come back into season. so we are heading back to the hob to see if he really is shooting blanks LOL HTS

  5. Hi, I have just bought a Winchester Mod. 70 Kal. 300WSM, and was wondering if anyone out there has some good loading info for me. the rifle is a stainless steel and gray plastic schaft. I will be picking the rifle up on Friday and will be using it for wild boar so a good heavy bullet would be neaded. so I hope someone can help. Cheers HTS
  6. you would be better off getting a 12, the 410 are ok I have got one for my son who is 8 with a short stock. it is not the price of a gun that makes it good, its the fit and the feel of a gun, one will fit and feel good and might cost 100 quid, and others might cost 1000's and you can't hit a thing. I have a pair of H+H and don't take them out when other people are there because I hate all the people gaffing, the only time they come out is when i am out for a few hours after pigeon I always shoot with a Rotweill 700 L hit nearly everything and they cost a fraction of the H + H. my advic
  7. With Brno 17 on this one put one or 2 flappers out on 8mm spring steel rods about 6ft they float and flap over the stuffed fox and the first crow that is shot is put in the jaws of the fox with broken wings hanging down so that the wind moves them. works a treat I got my fox stuffed from fleabay for about 12 quid worth every penny!! I have never tried a rotary for crows and if I did I think it would have to be very slow and the caller blowing short fast blasts, also try not to blow through the caller rather try to clear the throat this makes the call deeper and more realistic 807 crows thoug
  8. Hi Strong Stuff Been on your site and had a look and the new collers look great but if you are asking about an improvment why dont you solder one of the D rings to the trigger snap that would stop you loosing the coller when using the snap insted of the buckel. if you spoke to a local plumber I am sure that he would solder one for you it would have to be hard solder. if you used soft solder it tends to crack when cold, seeing that most of the work done is in winter you might have a few sent back. otherwise you are more than welcom to send me one and I will have a look to see if I can help
  9. over here its easy 12 Gauge Feckes them up and they don't come back :-}}}}}
  10. Hi [bANNED TEXT] insted of looking at the body of the bird try and consentrate on the tip of the beak, that will give you about 20 cm more head start than you have at the moment, this is what my grandfahter told me and then think that the beak is as long as that of a heron. basics if the bird is about 20-25 yards about 50 cm is enough further away or in high winds then the lead needs to get bigger some times you are looking at 2 m or more. if you are knocking feathers out of the birds then the lead needs to be lengthend by the length of the bird! most of the shots are behind or low.

  16. just thought that I would show you what a 22-250 V-max can do. I was up at 4.30, packed the rifle and the bins into the car and off to see if I could put a roe buck in the freezer. when I got up the seat and set up ready it was just breaking day on the right there is a hedge that runs up to the rubbish dump and normally the roe cross the hedge to get to the pond that is infront of the seat. while waiting there was some movement comeing down the hedge row smaller that a roe and hard to see. then it vanished into the dip that is about 120m from the seat only to reappear about m to

Hi I use the same make in .222 for the Drilling! that would be a side by side with a rifle barrel undernneath I have had a floating barrel put into the right hand shotgun barrel in the callibre .222 for the foxes and roe deer. they seem to be ok I have had a few that have drifted out of the group but normally you are looking at 1" at 100 yds. Cheers HTS
