  4. This is true Not true these days you have 2 types of fret workers and show crap, if you want a good worker get it from a good working line. You wont go far wrong if you get it of a game keeper.
  5. A greyhound ferret as whin says is a slim strong white fert. The very small ferts are just small on a good day they will bolt rabbits but usually they arn't strong enough to move them.

How come I cant find the picture of this dog?
  19. Yes for a locater Wait for an hour if he is 7ft down or dig him out in 2mns if he's a foot down but at least you will know where he is.
  20. All I can say is in my opinion it is bad practice to use Ferrets on rats, using the same ferrets on rabbets will make them harder to pick up and they normally kill more often. Yes Molly they only get a little bite now and then, how would you feel if that one bite took snowies eye out ( it's happened to me ).It doesn't take many rating trips for your ferret to refuse to enter to rat. I know because I did all that stuff when I was young, there was no one to tell me any different. Yes it is good fun but Rats will F**k up a good ferret.
  21. I know this is going to sound unbelievable for an unworked ferret I've only owned for 1 week but.....she actually came to my hand when I called her!! Have to say I couldnt be happier, she's a little angel. That said, she does come from a long line of working ferrets....maybe its in the breeding Thats the way i like to hear people talk about ferrets.WELL DONE MATE and the best of luck to you :drink:
  22. Feed your ferrets the night before as normal they will work harder for longer if they kill they wont stay with it.Starve them and they will kill and not want to leave.
  23. Your such a hard b*****d mate would pick a rat up with your hand or stick your hand down a rat hole. I think not.
  24. Well Richard there are a few things you could do 1. Put a muzzle on the big lad He would bolt rabbits quickly ( not recommended as he may meet something that can bite harder than he can. 2. Get a locater & collar (not forgetting a good spade) 3. Use smaller Gills ( 2 is better than 1)I would still recommend a Locater) What ever you do don't give up Good hunting :victory:
