forest of dean redneck replied to heart of wales's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
hi,heart of wales the pup in the first pic ,the brindle with the white rear feet, that would be the one for me & the missus.as its the biggest looking.you having probs picking yours.least its your litter so take your time its not like any ones going to beat you to it. -
nah ditchshitter i only call people a c***,to their face not when im faceless being a cyber hunter.at the end of the day i contacted the breeder to see if he knew anyone because i didnt want dog passed from pillar to post like what happened with staff.he was only person i knew into these breeds./xs i brought the dog too take over gradually from rotty as guard dog.growing up alongside kids.its just not my luck she turned out 20" like bullterrier.as for sweetshop syndrome.im currently without hunting dogs as last one picked up poisen in woods and had to be destroyed ,and i already worked out wit

hi hardfeather i know what your saying, the staff was a male and when his head split he devolped a real attitude problem.he tried killing the cats he grew up with which are my wifeys and were here first and started getting nasty around kids .this was when my wifey was 8 months pregnant with the toddler that the new pup has growled at,i let the kids play with the dog when it was a pup i think the dog has got too big for its boots the toddler is only as tall as she is.its just trying to push its luck.but its got to respect my missus as well. as kids.

cheers simoman, the dogs yr in december.i wouldnt want it to be rehomed with young kids, then something happens its fine with our 5/8 yr olds.i have had to rehome couple of dogs over yrs 1 deerhound x lurcher used to try killing freeroaming sheep,i didnt know they had here when i moved from dorset, and a staffie which had from pup and took dislike to cats and young kids as well.that ended in bad home tried getting it back and no joy found out bloke was smackhead ,he sold it for £20,even though i said any probs bring it back. the guy who brought it looks after it well see it quite regularally.i t

i know the kids were playing in garden and missus had to go in kitchen had dog since 6wks old, phoned breeder up and he was going to ring round for home but not contacted me in 3 days.dogs fine round missus & older kids just toddler.i aint gonna shoot dog and i dont want no spotty smackhead teenager having it because it looks like a mongrel pitty if you squint at it quickly.its a good guard and a loyal dog and deserves better. if i had my way i would get a kennel/run system and put finer mesh at bottom so kids cant put fingers through.

anyone had a dog which really bonded with them.and when they go out the dog plays other half up.i went out other day and my dog which is a yr old this december got hold of childs toy.and when kid went to take it off her,she snapped/growled.missus gave it right bollocking but doesnt like dog now.dog lives outdoors, and kid is 18month toddler.next day i was around and dog let 2 of kids brush it.

there was a swamp cat knocked down yrs ago,was it on iow.?.and one day we drove along rd near us,and missus said i just seen wierd animal led up in a tree, went through usual things fox.,polecat.she knows what ferrets look like.and feral cats.and when i showed pics of jungle cat/swamp cat that was closet we got to,and they reckon yrs ago a big house nr gloucester breed them as pets.they also reckon they found lair of big cat in fod but the chewed up bones were covered in disinfectant and it was later proved as animals being baited there.that danny bampling or whatever his name used to live in l

forest of dean boar
forest of dean redneck replied to forest of dean redneck's topic in Big Game Hunting
i think i may have worded this wrong.i was having a laugh about the rotty as back up.the ebt x was never brought as a pig dog it was to be a guard dog to stop theiving smack heads stealing my boys toys.if its on a chain it wont do a lot of good would it.and i have seen both on nz /aussie sites people going to pounds for pittys or hard holding meatheads.and i know that dogs dont get killed each hunt .but you got to admit that dogs that dont wear vests do run big risks.you wouldnt want to spend big money . -
forest of dean boar
forest of dean redneck replied to forest of dean redneck's topic in Big Game Hunting
the dog is a ebt x mastif,i brought to grow up alongside our 2 youngest kids.it was to take over as a guard dog from the rotty ,when it was older, but the pup has thrown towards the bull terrier bitch. :11: the pup from last litter bred by the owner were as big as our rotty.if i was going after boar intentionlly, i would use dogs from adtrader,or free to good home, that were of guarding/working breeds.as its pointless paying £300+ on dogs that are going to get killed.i know that some aussie /kiwi hunters go to pound and get pitts e.t.c as they are the ones likelly to get killed first.any way it -
more sightings nr whitecroft and beechnhurst lodge dogs attacked collie badly injured.2 sows with litters defending.in local papers.there in woods nr me but not the woods in my village wont be long.might have to take rottie with me as backup. :11: .the bull terrier x mastiff has only made 20". :realmad: .

cornwall/newquay fishing
forest of dean redneck replied to foxy's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
have a look around the beach for worm casts,i would say rag worm or sand eel.would take bass.or try lures.probably some fisherman selling eels live in baskets near small boats.dont buy any of that dried shit that every newsagents or bucket and spade shop sells in cornwall.had fun when holidaying with parents we had sea trout in fowey by ferry.bass in newquay, red gurnard somewhere along coast. and good fishing at mullion cove in lizard pennsuilar?.also i think it was praa sands where bass come in close and small flat fish but guillemots? were also hooked on sandeels. -
how are you all coping with this heat i know they reckon on 36c but this week the temp gauge on the shed has read over 40c the paving slabs you couldnt stand on barefoot.at the weekend it maxed out at 50c.our freezer is full of icecream and lollies.its the missus i feel sorry for shes 31 weeks pregnant, all she can do is either get in the pool or drink shandy.and the dogs just lie there.rotty seems worse due to black colour.

try throwing them around random like your feeding chickens or sowing grass seed not in a set pattern ,make it move for the treats.
-
have you tried scattering treats or laying a scent trail down.
