  3. eather push your finger right down there throte till they try and get it out dont hert her just make it very uncomfortable, or smash an onion and rub it in your hands and fingers she wont want any of that, the finger thing iv done but iv not tried the onion jobby mabe worth a try. i personally would not try this as it will only give the ferret a fear of being picked up.

  8. the gloves might help you but it wont help them they will not be used to your scent. but on the other hand there is no eveidence to say that it will harm them either. just try to handle her as often as possble preferably after feeding they are less likely to bite on a full belly. putting vinegar on your hands is another thing people try. ferretone is a liquid you can buy on ebay and some pet stores and they go mad for it for some reason just put it on your fingers and they will learn to lick them not bite and that your are there to feed them not harm them. you can get ferretone here. http

  16. well the gills come in once maybe twice a year mine have only ever been once . you will see when there vulva swells right up. you can not breed when it suits you its when it suits them but to be honest i would do some more research and maybe try next year as i think you still have a lot to learn about the wellfare of jills and this only gets harder when in season, and in kitt
  17. Exactly what i would say. they only tend to store food when they are full.
  18. Why? i can see why you would want to bring her in early and spoil the ferrting season. but if you keep them indoors under artificial light in mimicks longer sunny days and causes them to come in to season but i still dont understand why you would want to.
  19. just done abit of revision now as per usual the government has no idea what it is doing and has made this bit of legislation "The polecat is listed in schedule 6 of the 1981 Wildlife & Countryside Act, and Schedule 3 of the 1994 Conservation Regulations. Under these laws, certain methods of taking wild polecats are prohibited. These Acts prohibit the deliberate or intentional setting of traps, snares and so on for polecats without a licence. " although if you accidentally trap one whilst trapping vermin or a pest i.e mink. then yes you can kill it using a suitable firearm
  20. With regards the polecat i am unsure what you can and cant do. gut i know that if you trap a mink it is against the law to release this back in to the wild, it has to be humanely despatched. hope this helps.
