  1. i used this on mine when she was carrying as she had picked up some ticks from a court mate who had been out working and had no problems, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BEAPHAR-ANTI-PARASITE-SPOT-ON-RABBITS-FERRETS-RATS_W0QQitemZ160426422627QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Pet_Supplies_Small_Animals?hash=item255a28f163
  2. What's your reasoning into believeing that? Maybe the answer is in the title cat food................... it contains veg starch which binds the stomach and causes loads of problems... ferret food for ferrets cat food for cats dog food for dogs
  3. Thanks guys i thought i could invert it but just wanted to check that it would not damage it.
  4. i f"£$ing hate cows you wouldnt catch me ferreting that.. some land i ferret leases her land to a local farmer to graze. needless to say i stay well clear of the fields there in.
  5. I have recently purchased a ferret finder and was wanting a little help. to turn off the collars and save battery power you have to remove the batteries. but then comes the dilema of loosing the tiny little buggers in the field. my question is simple. Can i invert the batteries or will this dammage the batteries? Thanks In Advance

  9. it sounds a great idea but i doubt it will work. but hey there is no harm trying.
  10. We would quite happily take them but it is a fair old jaunt. Hope you find a suitable home soon.
  11. As far as i am aware there is no jab to prevent them from diesease. i beleive that they are susceptable to diesease but am not 100% on that. i thought about doing it a few years back but thought against it in the end as its not worth the risk if your jill gets amongst a full nest she may be game but she will not win...... my uncle did it years ago and never had a problem but times have changed and its not something id do. but this is not to say i am right its just my opinion. also if you ferret does get a hdding of some rat it will probably put it off rabbiting as well. why dont you just keep
  12. This time last year i had had my kits but they are still not in yet. you just have to let nature take its course. it will happen eventually
  13. Sure will. We lost eight ferrets four years back due to heart worm, our vets don't really know much about war weasels, and so sometimes it's hard to actually get to the bottom of things. With the heart worm (which we traced back to slugs coming from the farm behind us), the ferrets started to cough, became lethargic, their paws started to swell. All due to their lungs trying to compensate for the damaged to their hearts. Sad times. Strange thing was one ferret wasn't effected at all but she had adrenal disease. We only have a jill and a hob now, got the jill to keep the hob company. Annoying
  14. cuprinol do a pet safe wood paint i use black fence paint works a treat and keeps the wood breathable

  16. Myxi is a definate no but for the the other i am unsure.
  17. well if they have both been snipped then she will not come in to season so he will just contonuously try to mate her with no outcome the answer SIMPLE seperate them.... your only option unless you wiah the jill to get a good battering everyday for the next 2-3 months
  18. They need seperating she is obviosly not ready to mate and he quite blatently wants to so keep them seperate untill he comes out of rut unless you want to breed then keep them seperate untill she is ready.
