    Txt Talking

didn't notice the text talk, thought it was just really bad spelling!
  2. i dont know of anyone who owns or works this cross, and i cant understand why anyone would.using american pitbull in lurcher breeding,is going backwards, not forwards.we should be striving to breed lurchers with brains, good feet, good coats, and less aggression, dogs like these cant be classed as allround hunters.if its pig hunting you do,then these would do the job, but each to their own.regards collie john. Judging by your name i guess you like/keep collie X's. I suppose you right in you assumption that collie's are more intelligent but a good bull has got brains too. Its not as if they
  3. Not trying to piss on your chips or anything, but would they be equal to a game bulldog put over a good greyhound? As I say, not trying to pick holes.....just trying to understand the what the craic is. black stuff Prob not, just using what was at hand at the time as i have said did not breed them and i am certainly not trying to reinvent the wheel nor annoy any individual just happen to like the dogs i have in my yard did orriginally have in mind using a grey hound on them purely because i could not find what i was originally looking for as u know well bred stock is lik
  4. Absolutely none but after all the alaunt recreation is just an ammalgamation of what is allready out there bread to an individuals ideal all i know of them is that they have a high prey drive and as all ready stated in this thread put back to a greyound would without doubt be equal to any allready out there doing the job they were bread for .To be honest that was orriginally my thought when i bought the first bitch but they are only pups and apart from snatching the odd rabbit when my little dogs are bushing i have not done much with them but as thay matute and the opportunity arrises then the
  5. The photos were taking two months ago and they are alot leaner now, the more athletic one of the 2 catches rabbits fairly often if they panic she has them the only trouble is the tug of war betwween them means nothing left for uman consumption
  6. colonel david hancock as wrote a article about this cross in countrymans weekly, i agree with you they would be alright on big stuff, but with regards ferreting or lamping i personally think they would be to heavy and cumbersome to be of any use.i dont believe there is a market for this sort of cross.regards collie john. does size matter for a decent ferreting dog when exits are netted and no need to catch in the open field surely the ability to mark occupied burrows and be steady to ferrets is more parramount They were allways bread to be heavy dogs of the field and as for a market for th
  7. fingers crossed this picture thing has worked.
  8. I have 2 alaunts at the moment both have high prey drives which i try to keep in check. they are litter sisters one very athletic the other very mastiff like head but again athletic body theyre coming up to the year mark now and are v biddable have been a doddle to train . they obviously dont catch much ,i have them out with the little dogs mostly snatching the odd rabbit or whatever comes there way but once they catch hold nothing gets away .will work out how to post pics later and post some to show you
  9. The lager and fags in the first pics will have to go then
  10. I bet that they are a great prospect do the parents hunt up well and work cover as i have thought about this cross for some time as i love my little black terriers so for a mooching dog it would be ideal for someone like me whos permission is small paddock size fields bordering disused overgrown railway line, bigger dogs end up injured clashing into snags.where abouts are you in this green and pleasent land mate north or south
