  1. Romany, I am pleased to say that her lugs are only like that when she's alert she uses them well.. This is a bitch I bred in the `s, and like I say, some of my stuff did have lugs like her....only when she was alert, she is 10 years old on this picture.. Yes I can definitely see the resemblance, especially her ears and very similar breeding too... is that Bess? She looks well in the photo for her age
  2. Trevor, my camera skills and cameras were a little dodgy back then, I don't have many photos, and the ones I do aren't so good
  3. Bit of a sweeping statement that. I take it you've not seen 29" dogs catching then. Isn't it just Of course they can catch, they can do it with style - my old deer x 29" bitch, 10 years old, and after suffering a recent life threatening illness, she is STILL beating her younger smaller counterparts to catch.

  6. I bet she could move! What a lovely dog Thank you Shepp.
  7. I never expected her to be so small, but am very pleased with how she is turning out. She's still very young, last season was her first, and I didn't get out with her as much as I'd have liked to - I think shes going to be useful, and am looking forward to the start of the coming season a couple of photos of her taken by a friend of mine, whilst out ferreting
  8. Thank you Gaz, shes quite small considering her make-up, about 23" tts.

  11. both look nice types ,what lines in the bitch if any ?not that it matters just wondering the bitch is a linebred deerhound greyhound, litter bred by a couple of lads in Northumberland for their own use
  12. Do you think? to me she doesnt look like either i have,nt seen many smooth coat deerhounds but the ones i have seen have all had simlier type head on them ,same as yours, was the dam and sire both rough coated Ive not seen any others (that Ive known the breeding of) of this cross to compare. Yes both parents were smooth, all but 2 in the litter were also rough, the rough ones all seem to have thrown to the deerhound.
  13. not like her dad then mine loves the water she lies down in it when shes bathed
  14. wonder why you thought that she's looking very good, am really pleased with how they have turned out, keep the progress reports going ..

  19. Missed out on the great weather preceding Sunday’s visit, it was dreary and wet once again, much the same as last year, but made up for by the colourful sight of Appleby’s wonderful Horse Fair. A few photos from 2011.
