  1. Couldn't imagine ferreting without dogs, for me there really would be no point as I only do it to see the dogs working.. What about the dogs in your avatar - they are very smart - don't you take them?
  2. had this permission for over 4 years now so it better not be He loves hunting in the bracken, very entertaining to watch
  3. First time we went out ferreting was a few weeks ago, but the cover was way too high and there were too many birds about on the shoot, so we didn't have a good day, apart from the fact that the temperatures were warmer than they were in the summer Then shortly after Mr Keeps hurt his leg when we were out ratting one night - at first the docs thought it was broken so he's had to rest it for a few weeks, but hopefully it seems to be on the mend now.. so we thought we'd have a short look out yesterday just to see how it went. We took Daisy, one of our terriers along with us, as she doe
  4. What gets me is why people insist on typing shit like whoop whoop at the end of every fecking status update.. i know i hate that too.. WOOP WOOP!!!!! me too, and people who say "sweet" whats that all about... sounds a bit naff to me  its a good way of keeping in touch with friends around the globe though, and makes a change from hunting forums.
  5. 3 weeks old today, a few photos taken last night
  6. Thanks Annemarie ALL pups deserve the best possible start in life, and these ones will get the best of everything. It can be hard work rearing pups properly, keeping them clean and ensuring that they and the dam are well fed and cared for but the results are always worth the extra effort and hopefully it will pay off in the future.
  7. they are deer/grey x beardie/grey both parents below
  8. Pups are coming on really well now, and we brought them in yesterday to weigh & worm so I took the opportunity to take a few more pics. They have also started to lick, so I put some puppy milk down for them to try - they didnt take much persuading! what a messy do!
  9. how tall are the dam and sire mate, how much are pups and [bANNED TEXT] are they ready to go to homes. close to you and very tempted. editored to say just saw it sayin ther 1 week old dam is approx 24" sire is 25" though there are some bigger dogs back in their breeding. The pups aren't small, they are quite solid little lumps but its difficult for me to tell, as Ive not bred a litter of lurchers before - they are a fairly even litter, theres one that seems a bit racier than the others. The Beardie was Indies grandsire BBB - his mother was a half x Indie was bred by BD Roughcoat from
  10. Thank you. Hope to put up a few more updated pics this weekend
  11. My mam used to make me have that every day when I was a kid
  12. used these days for rabbiting Sniper, but in the past they have some photos preban, when Indie was a very young dog
  13. One dog and a couple of bitches from this litter are available to the right working homes. dam is from Doxhope lines, her sire, a first x, was bred by Doxhope, dam was deer/grey to deer/grey with some very good all round dogs in her pedigree. dam Nuala 1/2 x deerhound greyhound pictured below sire Indie 1/4 beardie 3/4 greyhound pups are one week old, so not ready to go for a few weeks. They have been dew clawed and will be wormed regularly until ready to go. We bred this litter for our own use and are keeping a pup.
  14. Thanks Shell, haven't decided which to keep yet, and probably won't for a while yet. Heres a few better photos I took today, all doing very well
  15. She had 9 Giro 6 bitches, 3 dogs. I've been polishing them 'specially for the photos Chartpolski - at the moment they all seem to have taken after their sire rather than Nuala in the looks department, though I suppose that could change as they grow. Indies sire was a blue greyhound, which explains the blues
  16. Thanks Kev, can't wait to see how they grow
  17. The newest members of the gang arrived last night and into the early hours of this morning, heres a few photos of the proud mum and her brood
  18. not 100% sure CS, its just a pup, but I think its prefix is Inneshay (bred by kennelmaids dad). I'll try and find out. Its a nice pup isnt it
