  1. What dog takes these fallow so easily?
  2. That is one very nice lookin dog. Not really in to the collie cross anymore but thats a cracker!! Seen some very handy 3/4 breds that would grab a fox with no hesitation like a bull cross, even retreive it.
  3. Nice mate.. That black bitch looks like shes done some graft. HA HA! Get in son
  4. A bit of brain is allways good depending on what you do most. Day time work is good. But for lamping ive seen far to many collie cross dogs refuse to chase because they think they are being clever. For example rabbits to close to a hedge or deer to far away. Seen lots of others succeed when a collie cross fails. Cant ever knock a dog who trys
  5. Nice dog mate. Where did she come from?
  6. hi stormrider, im new to the bullx also, had collie types before, both were hancoxs breeding and both of them were very good at finding stuff in cover, and both were fairly obedient around sheep, but the bullx i have is better at finding and will go through any cover at all to get her prize, she has put up stuff and hunted it like a fox hound, if she comes across aline she gets her head down and she will work it, she will hedge like a terrier, if she stops along a hedge or what ever, i just wait and watch her go. from what ive seen she knocks spots off the collies ive had, down side is she is
  7. What are your views on the bull crosses nose and marking ability. My 9 month old bitch seems to be a natural. She rarely gets it wrong. Anyone else found this, Im quite new to the first hand experiance with the cross.
  8. Allways walking with the dog on a slip. But ya can't beat driving from gate to gate, with someone else stickin there head out the sun roof. Especially when you want to try somewhere different
  9. Welcome to the real world mate. Its not just dogs is it.. Why should people give them away? 60 odd days looking after the bitch and 7 or 8 weeks the pups. Yeah they need to go to a decent home which is most important, but if you want something you have to pay for it..
  10. Why's everyone gettin pissy about it. You can see those rabbits have been caught within the same sort of time! No big deal
  11. cheers mate that does make sense Only a guess mate, but would have a tenner on it.. 4 sure
  12. probably thesame as humans. the more dehidrated the darker the pee. easy
  13. My mate has a deerhound/greyhound x Beddie/Greyhound. Real good allrounder.
  14. i have a saluki/bullgreyhound carnt go wrong mate There seems to be a few around now. I can understand your way of thinking. Bit a fire in its belly and the wind to go with it.. Good luck with yours
  15. Different types of ground certaintly pay a big part in it, they must do. Loads of times i have heard people on this site refer to roe as being fast. But all i can put it down to is area in which they live. Live down south and i can honestly say that i have seen so many different dogs catch them, including a collie a deerhound greyhound type with only 3 legs. Seen them hit hedges, fences ditches etc. No comparison to a hare.. all pre ban of course
  16. Nice.. Also have a young bull cross, only caught a few but has never been hard mouthed yet!!
  17. Good on you.. Why straight to the point about obiediance? Got to admit i would love to see a good one work, especialy on a big open field.. cheers
  18. mate you talk utter shite your saying a saluki isn't a good running dog i can't believe what i'm hearing it's been around thousand's of year's doing just that and are still doing it and will still be doing it long after bull xs and that's a fact what out of fox, deer, hare and rabbit do you think a bull x is better on tha a saluki x if you was to go up and down the country lamping and coursing with 1 dog slip's ??? Listen mate.. Im not sayin a saluki cant run at all, far from it. But what i am sayin is that i disagree with your statement that a first cross has no speed.. That is utter shite.

  20. A first cross is a first cross! no matter how its bred, pure to pure or first cross to first cross. Doesnt matter what it looks like.. Ive seen plenty run and they have all been useless, on small ground.. thats why i started the topic!! Now i know you open your mouth before u think.. Why would you need to add one runnin dog to another.. maybe because one aint such a good ruuner in the first place..
  21. i'd say if someone has a dog that can kill at this time of year consistantly, it'll be pretty good....seeing as everywhere round here is too long to even see your dogs, ground too hard, weather too hot....blah blah blah, etc etc etc!!! the main group of people who slag summer killing are those who dont truelly understand what happens in the countryside............. Yeah.. My bull terrier bitch has caught half grown rabbits at this time of year,Walking in the early evenings. But never in the winter.. Shes nearly 25 kgs and runs like a brick. All i can say, is you must have
  22. it's all about what you breed the dog for a half x bull hasn't alot of speed you get full saluki's that can catch in small field's some are only good for big land the fast bull's are normally 3/4 greyhound if you get a 3'4 greyhound 1/4 saluki you would have no problem in small field's a lad here had one it was one good dog What a load of shite.. There are some racey 1st cross dogs that will smash salukis all over the place in small fields.. In fact most of them will. Have you ever seen one run, or do your lips move before you think.. Why do people add a dash of bull to the non ped racers
