  1. Thanks mate. A friend has a bitch that will check an earth so much you got a job to get her back when there is nothing at home!
  2. Im fairly new to the earth work thing. Been working a border bitch now whos had a few digs, i have worked her along side a mates black dogs so she doesnt get as much work as i would like, as we tend to share it about. Generally we will walk up to an earth with dogs on leads and then just simply collar one up and let it go. The other day we walked to an earth and literally the minute we got there all dogs went nuts before we even collared one up. There was no doubt this time Mr fox was at home!! A nice dig for my young bitch.. Just wonder if this is the norm or do you generally have to let a

  7. Yes mate, it was a shallow earth, .4 the deapest reading we got. But was about 7 mtr wide with trees and brambles so she would have took some finding..
  8. Shes not what i would call hard though mate. When i first started her she took a fair bit of stick but not as much now. Today was the first time i have found her with the fox facing away normaly she will sound off, but this time she was stretched out where it got a bit tight..
  9. Im fairly new to the digging thing and have a border bitch, she is into her first proper season. The end of last season she was showing good signs but very slow. Iv persevered with her this season and she is now coming on leaps. today we entered her in a place, and with in 5 minutes could here her bayin we let her settle for a while thinking we were on and then she moved. This went on for the next 25 minutes and we then got a .4 reading that had settled. We dug down nice and easy and found the b and f collar near some roots. I was f..kin gutted!! We then spent the next 2 and a half hours try
  10. Mine gets fed after i get in from lamping and also a big meal around 7 am then 13 or 14 hours later ready to lamp hard again. But i had a whip/grey years back that ran like a bag of shite if fed to much in the morning! In my experiance alot of dogs are different and it pays to work out how they work the best.
  11. I had a bitza with a fair bit of collie in the mix. Up to about 2.5 ,3 years old was a cracking bitch on the lamp. And then out of no where it started picking its runs! i was gutted as i new the dog was capable of catching loads more than she was running for. Used to slip a whip/grey dog when she refused who would clean up! for me that was the worst dog but even she had some real good points!
  12. Your probably only saving yourself around 1.5 metres of twine per net. Does it really make that much difference?
  13. Pineapples the way mate, even adding juice to there water has worked for me.
  14. Do you have any pictures of a net made like this mate. Never seen it before.
  15. Alright Lee, they maybe the same pups that are up on Hunters United..
  16. How much road work does the dog get mate? You cant beat a couple short walks every day on the road, conditions all dogs feet, nails and pads..
  17. Thanks for the replys, i have used the stronger magnet and it has worked.. result.
  18. Thanks mate, will try it. I had to take the battery out yesterday but will give it a go.
  19. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem with the b&f collar. It came on as usual yesterday but it wouldnt turn off at the end of the day. Can anyone help, cheers chris
  20. A lad called ollie Kennard off this sit has one. Seen it work a fair few times. Hes a very good dog!
  21. It happens to them all mate. You gotta nip it in the bud as soon as it happens. Ive allways been taught a good hard wack and a real stern telling off, i never lay a finger on my dogs apart from this part of being a pup. After the first time a stern voice is generally all that is needed if they stray again. They only do it once!
  22. Nice one mate, id love to test my bitch on one of them
  23. Looks nice mate. What is it? Looks like a 3/4 1/4 collie/grey, just like a mate used to have..
