For sure, I was asking for info not a bunch of opinion or bad talking.. And my terrier I have now is out of the Cpt Tim dog line.. I have had other good terriers but as a line this has been the most consintant as far as type and hardness,,
I would love to see her hunt Jay!!! Is she more of an in-and-out mixer or a lock down cacher... Seems a good size, long legs for running without getting to tired...
I seen work some workin here in the USA. They should be hard as nails most won't make the cut but when you find a good one they get the job done. They are better when crossed to game pits or staghounds. There is a breeder in south Dakota one in Cali and another in northern Idaho.
Dan had got all the gyps out of the litter but knowing him I'm sure most are dead now. That dog seems a bit small for what Dan is after. What are they used for, as a draw dog or bunnies.
I had a ibizan hound it looks like what u are talking about. The one I had was bred out of imports from south of Spain. Not like a normal sighthound they like to hunt for them self and will range off a lot. I hear they are what went into remaking the Pharos hound as they are a new breed not the same as the ones on the tomb walls. The ibizan hound is the oldest of this type of hound.
I think of u took It down to 1/4 but using US Staghound would be the best. U won't loose the grit and plenty of them stags are fast as any coldblood grey. And stags I have had had as good of feet as any heeler (what we call them here). They are real popular here and my mom has had two and most of the ranches around here use them or a collie cross some have a bit of blackmouth cur in'um they are the best.
Red has good speed and one of his sons is as fast as any stag I have seen. But as a whole you are right not the fastest.. Yes that is the land I run in, I only see the start of any course and then chase them on foot or track them in the sand to find them..
Thanks, breeding Tackel to an old Brett Sorrel stud, then back to my friends slim stag stud if he is still around... Dont really need any pups right now but she is the last female of the line and has never been bred.. Not many Lurchers here in the U.S. so if I ever want more I got to breed them my self..
Here is the three I keep, Red and Tackel are littermate Hotblood Grey X Redline Airedale/gamedog (or as you would call them apbt), they are around 4 I think. Boone is out of the same dam, Brin off of a big yellow stag Stich, he is about 11months.
.
I know jmmy and his daughter christy. They have some good dogs and I liked hunting with them. I also know a lot of guys like jimmy who hunt every day Oregon state is the Only place I would live or Idaho cuz of the hunting laws
That's right... I left out my buddy Jimmy Gibbs. That's a baaad man. One of these days I am gonna make a hunt with him. His dogs are famous here in the deep south. Plenty of nose and will stick with a runner. Never met a nicer guy.
I am the only one in my area who dosnt breed there terriers just for lion and bear. Most people I know are houndsmen here. The Jagds here are big and fast with a lot of grit and nose.
