    when you have netted all the warren up and entered the ferrets stand out of direct sight of th hole because if a rabbit sees you some time wont bolt

    took the dog out for a few runs to night neva ran him befor on frozed groung but was itching to get ot and decided to go with my 5 year old son we set of and soon landed at our first field soon as i put the lamp on the he was big ears about 40 ft away so we walked on to it got about 25 ft from it up it went but watching the run was sum what dissapointe din the proformance ov the big ears didnt run like it would normally dose the snow make them slow or doselie or some thing only turned twice and the dog hovered it up to the delight of my son he was over the moon smiling from ear to ear bless

    the saluki cross looks like a fine dog when our lass cums in ill show her the dog and see what she says as the pup is for her atb jedandkevo

    thanks for the advise, i'll give that a try! was thinkin of doin a bit of ferretin with her see if that calm her down any could do mate but bolting rabbits might make it worse each to there own tho gd luck

    a freind ov mine had a dog that used to do the same thing what he done was took a few ferreted rabbits and let the dog chase them 1 by 1 ov course lol and when it caught it, it used to rip them to bits so he used cheses to hand feed (treat) the dog making it calm and gentlel when takein treat he said it was just to much excitment to catch quarry also you could take it for a long walk so its tiered then try it with a skin and see what its reaction is then try your own methods. i always find its better to slove a problem with my dog when its tired seems to take more in atb jedandlevo

    yep no probs,if he is still really nervous this could be why he has no interest in much else maybe because he won’t focus his mind where it should be.. I think if you can crack his nervous temperament you will see a different dog.... Has anybody got any advice on a nervous dog? Matt i wish i read this post 3 days ago ive just let my little ferretin dog go (1/4 collie 3/4 whippet)and was reluctent to be honest because it went to a home as a pet not a working home as wanted not that im complaining because i no it will be well looked after and exercised

    all i done with my jrt is i went ferretin and kept sum live rabbits and put the rabbit in the entrance to the hole wile showing the dog the quarry and it just flew down after it and never looked back after a few goes it worked for me some people might have a better idea for you but this is what i done atb jedandlevo
