  1. i used to be festidious about being all cammoed up but to be honest i see as much wildlife when ime just in dark green stuff,there are times when i still use the old mossey oak stuff but usually so as not to be seen by others! by the way if your after cheap hunting apparel try the Bass pro shops in the states at over $2 to the pound even with duty you save a mint,i spent £120 and got over £400 worth of stuff!
  2. well theres a list of books to get,ive got a couple ive got ian nialls ones and tales of the old poachers by humphreys.another book worthy of note is an old one from the early 20th centuary its called 'the amateur poacher by richard jefferies,a good read ,i picked this beuty up at the recycling center,amazing what folk throw out! I may get some flack for this from the mods but if your intrested in traditional country hunting(aka poaching) check out the link on my signiature.

  4. i find that they go a lot lighter in the winter,i guess its an old throwback to when we used to have snow! dytkos our ferrets could be twins separated at birth!

  7. herea a good use for the fruits! pat them dry after the stones are removed,then dip into melted chocolate then place one silicone paper to set,these are VERY moreish and DEFINITELY NOT FOR GIRLS!!!!!

According to a DEFRA spokesperson today,it was anounced that the cost of the forth comming cull of badgers would would not be met by the tax payer but uniqely funded in partnership with the british meat baord. Farmers will be paid an undisclosed sum to keep badger carcases in refridgeration until pick-ups can be made, the badgers will then be sent to processing plants where the meat will be striped ,and the offal taken .According to the spokesperson the offal will be sold for animal feeds to be sold to an,at this time un named animal charity.The meat having been passed as fit for human consu

  12. now heres a goodie to try with such a mild winter so far ive still got them growing here!,use with or without the chilli,remember this one needs to mature for 6-8 weeks reason for this is that the vinegar reacts with the chilli reducing the potency of the end product considerably! 1lb of nettle tops 2lb cooker apples 2lb red onions 2 sticks of celery finely diced (celeriac works well too) 1lb of finely diced carrott red chillies finely chopped with the seeds! 3pints cheap balsamic vinegar (tesco 99p per pint) 2lb of soft brown sugar 1teaspoon of mixed spice 1tablespoon o

  14. didnt weigh the carp,i recon about 8lb mark.as for the hook it may be big but i find that being barbless its dead easy to unhook and generally in the mouth too,none of the damage of a swallowed size12! (besides the ducks compete for the same bread and ide like them to feel the hook befor its too late.)

  17. this advice from folk that know REALY is usefull and giving me much on which to ponder.i have a collie currently and have trained her to near working dog levels,obviously she is NO use what so ever for hunting! ive seen her run past a conie to chase a rook thats 200 feet in the air! the only worry i have about an adult dog would be with the kids,you just dont know how itll be with them.my kids respect dogs and know about giving them plenty of personal space,are whippets known for being snappy?

  20. heres a recipe of my making,made it today and its one tasty banger! 5lb belly prk 3lb rabbit meat 8oz rusk or bread crumbs 1lb leeks 1 teaspoon of salt 1 teaspoon coarsly ground black pepper 2 table spoons fresh finely chopped sage 1 teaspoon mustard powder water to mix pass the meat and the leeks through the mincer,then add the other ingredients,mix to a paste consistancy and stuff into skins as per usual! and these go well with my 4 chilli chutney!
  21. heres a family favorite of ours 1 hare jointed into seving sized pieces 1 pint of winter ale 1 crushed clove of garlic 1 bay leaf 1lb finely diced red onion 2 tablespoons of plain flour with a little smoked paprika mixed in 2 oz beef dripping or if you have some goose fat 1/2 pint of stock,one vegie oxo would do. 1 egg cup full of worcestershire sauce. place the hare ,beer ,bayleaf,garlic,onion and worcestershire sauce into a bowl and allowed to marinade over night or 24 hours. then take out the hare and pat dry,coat in the seasoned flor and then gently brown in the drippi
  22. personally i prefer jills being smaller than the hobs they dont disturb the nets so much when the crawl through! my old hob was so big he wold pull every net streight!
