  4. lady p ,it was the layby 50 yards from Taunton racecource! i wish i had parked in there instead! Its such a busy road there must have been dozens of road users that saw it and did nothng! worst bit is that i turns out that my fully comprehensive insurane with TESCO only covers the windscreen!not very comprehensive eh?!!!!!! so now ime stuck with a car minus the windows, in a village that has 3 busses a week, still if i wrap up well i can atleast get to the shops, but i can hardly put the kids in there exposed to the winter elements! is no windows a MOT failure? oh one funny thing thou
  5. went ferreting today with my good friend walrus near taunton in somerset, got there early and parked up in a layby next to the race course on a busy A road.after 2 hours in a force4 wind and a tepurature of -2 we decided to return to the car for a brew and a biscuit, when we got back we discovered this: there was nothing worth nicking in the car just my sons 4 gameboy cards he got for christmas (he was realy upset!)so presumably they smashed all the other windows out of spite, junky ba****ds! i had my 7 year old son Robin with me so i rang the AA to take us home as it was sub zero a
  6. i recently took posetion of a wartime news paper from during the Nazi occupation of the channel islands,it makes for an intresting read, having had churchill pull the BEF out of france and soon after the channel islands, the germans took control of the chanell islands, deported the jews, murdered all that apposed them and sent many to camps,so it is fair to say the relations between the SS stafa and the islanders were less than comfortable! imagine my suprise when i saw this: what no 'hande hoch englander' or ' swine hunt' to be seen!
  7. ive got one of those its a great gun and the asking price is a bargain,if anyones thinking about buying GRAB IT!!!!

  9. AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!
  10. nice scandi duckwing! ime glad so many folk have been inspired to give it a go! as stated before i only anealed the tang not the blade.i like to keep things cool when making a blade by just dipping in water,i try my best not to lose the temper of the steel. since making that knife i now use DeWalt masonry bits to drill the holes theyre tungten carbide tips and will drill clean through hardened steel. those of you that were inspired post some pics of yer pieces! remember it takes time to get good and ive made my fair share of cock ups!
  11. he is no where near as anoying as paul young and wilson!
  12. it was relatively easy on this sized plade,on the bigger saw blades ie 2-3mm thick i use a grinder then finish off the shaping with a bench grinder and a linisher. it realy is fun using a knife made by yer own hand.
  13. i ate worm powder once! the family regularly eat rook, squirell, perch and pike.i also hve a jar of pickled gulls eggs in the pantry! yummmmm!!!!
  14. inspired by a thread on a bowhunting forum,i decided to make a sheath knife suitable for rabbits and fish.in the original thread a circular saw blade was used apparently its a very good steel.so i rummaged in the shed and came up with an old circular saw blade from the old black and decker. next thing was to sand the rust off. next the area to be cut needed masking. then i had to decide on a design, not wanting an exact copy of the inspiration i changes several angles, and finally ended up wit a nice drop point blade design. next was to cut it out with the dremmel, using a fiber cutti
  15. welldone nobby,i make knives myself and i can appreciate the work thats gone into that! i can highly recomend highland horn too,his buffalo spacers are ideal for stacked handles too!when yur making knives view allsorts as posible materials, ive used a red video case for spacers and liners,if you want some mahogany or walnut just give me a pm,ive got tons of it! by the ewaythat antler has a superb coronette on it for a stick,i made one and capped it with a florin.
  16. well done that man!,did they bolt into nets or did you dig?
  17. did i say river? sorry i meant lake, murkey as hell! i was fishing for arp.......................
  18. ime not anti hunt, not by a long way. i do however dislike the way the red coats look down their noses at me afterall they too are poachers now!
  19. I whole hearted support their endevours but bullshit ruins their credibility! according to news scources:" The pro-hunting Countryside Alliance estimates around 250,000 people turned out for some 300 hunts." so nearly a thousand people per hunt????? i think it very unlikely.maybe a hundred or so per hunt at best. remember the story of the kid that cried wolf? same thing ime afraid. please ,who ever deals with press releases in the CA use yer head!
