    managed to come across a deer the other night whilst walking the dog,poor thing just must have had a heart attack! anyhow once home it was butchered , the loins,haunches and forequarters frozen down,the trim was minced in my antique Spong hand mincer,we had 8lb of venison trim and added to it 8lb of trim from a pig i butchered last month,the pork is a must as the venison is so lean the result of 100%venison sausage would be a very dry one. I only made 2 types today my own recipe venison sausage and a spicy one . my recipe venison sausage: 4lb minced venison 4lb fatty pork

    they are way to bulky mate ,what you need is a hunter catapult,fits in the pocket easy and discreetly, shoots at 18ftlb energy,that's 210feet per second,i have killed even big game with one,but mostly smaller stuff.

    well if you know me then youll know my view on animal rights,and i hate the RSPCA with a vigour but this bunch of animal rights activists get my money and vote,i dont know if it will make a difference but watch the video (if you can) and sign the petition. http://www.ptroa.co.il/petition/index.php moderators any chance of this being pinned for a bit?

    was out in the woods near here one night on me own and i just fealt that some thing was watching me ,all the hairs on the back of the nech stood up! i was the prey that night ,dont know if it was a big cat or a spirit but it was real.

    woke up to a fine morning,the kids had been nagging me to go ferreting for ages so as i had finished off a couple of nets i got the kit together. this particular bit of permission never hold many rabbits but its good practice for the kids. once we were there we set about putting the hand made nets down. not having many nets we searched out the regularly used holes,having had wet weather recently they were easy to spot. we found old brock stuck in the mouth of a rabbit hole,looked fresh too. with all the nets set we put the 2 jills down,we dont dig or use lo

    heres the catty finished ,minus the bands of course! i stained it a Jacobean oak colour,then waxed it,once buffed it took on a nice patina,i am quite interested in this form of catapult,i could expand a bit like the welsh love spoons to become an art form in its self,my next project will be a ball in a cage in the handle of a catty.

    mostly ash and silver birch,bot reasonably soft when green.

    did some more on the catty this morning,the first sand and second to 120grit,will still need to do the grooves for the bands and then the wirewool,wax and buff!
