Has anyone heard of the new Panorama programe due to be shown on Monday night? In it, the BBC accuses our most highly decorated army regiment of knowingly and systematically murdering prisoners of war; in particular I believe they make referance to two instances where men were executed (shot in the head) with 9mm pistols and another where a teenage male was garotted. I believe these alegations (dispicable if they are true) are made on the strength of complaints are are founded on very little evidence. Well done for keeping this up; we too try to do very much the same and are trying to show our little girl (my stepdaughter) that real food is better, that its produced on farms and show her where it comes from, as oposed to in a carton, box or tin from the supermarket; and she loves to see it, loves the farmers market etc because it all makes sence to her. She sees where the potato, cauliflower, carrots and chicken come from then its cooked and we all sit down together and enjoy it; its a full cycle which she sees and understands, even tells nursery friends about where milk comes from or that -
The situation in Afganistan is very diferant from any "regular" conflict that we have been involved with do date. You sit there and watch beheadings???!! There are many on here who slag off those that fight for their rights (right or wrong), saying they'll do this or that in retaliation.....its all bollocks, they are armchair politicians and nothing else. I too am an armchair politician, but like one or two other on here I have fought for my country, and it sickens me that those who sit behind their PC critisizing others but won't do anything themselves feel this god given right to "be right"! Sure they have an opinion, and are entitled to it as we all are; but an opinion does not make you right.

Its a sad fact, but you are not wrong. Plenty on here are willing to put others dow, say this or that in support of their country and religion, slag off those that have or do have the courage in their convictions to actually do something about their beliefs; cower behind extreme right wing facist politics or indead the privacy of their PC (as we are all doing to some extent, the nature of online forums etc); but very few it seems to me do or have done anything constructive for this country. I'm sure you won't get banned for your post; you have many points that are similar to those that I have mentioned believe it or not. These forums, you are right they are in for the promotion of a specific skin colour, religion or ethnicity; a quick search and I have found some for mulims, catholics and more. Back to the theme of the thread, has anyone heard of the shinanegans in Oxford (anyone in Oxford on here?) about the mosque (sp?) wanting to play the call to prayer over the speakers, I think between three and five times a day??? Not as my posts show I'm all for live and let live, and mutual respect as oposed to narrow minded "Britishness" although I am a strong patriot but I do take issues with this idea....

It pisses me off when a story like this emerges and some narrowminded idiot presumes that it must have been some working owner who didn't give a toss about their dogs! Some very interesting points raised above; and I have to say I find myself agreeing with points on both sides. Speedlampers last post is spot on, however Gnasher 16 also raises some valid point, we should not be bending over to provide for imigrants (illegal or legal) at the expense of not doing the same for ourselves.
