I hear what you are saying there. I agree. You don't like the CLA? I'm a member of both the CLA and Countryside Aliance, but both (more so the CLA) have an image of pushing country sports for "Toffs" and less so for people from all walks of life. It has been mentioned before on this thread, but the Aliance organised (Countryside Rocks) an ontdoor concert which was a great place to get some famous faces in support of field sports together; and to a large extent it worked; but they didn't get what you might call "normal" country sports fans there, purely because the ticket price was so bloody h -
As many have said above; choke is the common factor in spread pattern, but not in "quality" of spread or density of pattern which I think you are getting at. The quality and density of the pattern is all down to the combination of gun and ammo. By that I mean, not all ammo will pattern well in each gun; thats part of the reason we use a pattern plate. Sure tight choke heavy load on foxes etc, but there is no point using a load/ammo that patterns poorly in your gun. My suggestion would be to chose a gun based on what you want, like and can afford and will suit the job, fixed or multi ch

of course!! Think he even won a few trap shooting comps before he got into racing too. -
I suspect he is young, but not an anti; he possably just needs a guide in the right direction and to get the lie of the THL land so to speak. If he is young and asking the right questions we should encourage him, if not, then fair enough. Relax a bit Guevara, take a look around and enjoy the forum.

Jeep Cheroke or 300tdi Disco
The Sporting Agent replied to The Sporting Agent's topic in 4x4's, Quads & ATV's
Looks like I might have to concider the Disco or a Jap one then. I don't really fancy an import for a number of reason. I'm guessing that waxoil or similar on the sills and wheel and door arches of the Disco would help if I found one in decent cond? -

Yep, I've got a mile of river up there; lovely part of the world. The site is far from finished yet, but its getting there; just not enough time to do everything!! As for this thread; its been suggested that celebs might not want to publicly be associated with field sports for fear of reprisals or for fear of people peering to close to their private lives; and why should they publicly stand up if we as individuals are not prepared to do the same. For my part, I am, as are many I'm sure whe have marched etc. As mere mortals we are unlikely to get much in the way of individual media at -

Click on the link to eithr of my web sites and you'll find it. I don't think its particularly clever to highlight faults you think I'm (or others) are making by not openly supporting our sport or way of life, when like I've said my name and pic is easily seen on a number of sites that can be viewd by anyone..... Click on my sites and you'll find out more about me than just my name; nothing I'm not happy with people knowing, but it will be certanly evident that I support field sports. Your name?? -

A few have come out in support of hunting in Ireland. There was a letter published recently from a jockey supporting the staghound packs that they were trying to ban. I agree though, seeing as most of them learn their trade in one way or another around hunting and their mounts usually go at some point they could show more support. i know 2 or 3 jockeys and rugby players who support hunting, but it would be maddness for these boys to through there names out so they can have every man and there family trying to catch them out na i dont think so edited to add all you lot saying celebs sh -
I second that, then put the "evidence" in the slury pit! But in answer to your question..........this government, thats what happend to freedom of speech!

Sory to hijack your thread, SA but what about a list of celebrity antis whose books, films, music, retaurants etc etc etc we should boycott? To start, as stated several times previously : Sir Paul McWankartny I totally agree; 110%. I started a thread here two weeks ago about McCartney.........£1mil to LACS each year!! What I wes trying to do was encourage a debate about those who support us as we hear too little about them and enough about the tos##rs who don't.... -

.......and still the list gets longer. My point is that very few of these guys are openly seen by the public to stand up for and support the countryside and field sports. Perhaps if they were there would be a slightly better understanding that it is perfectly normal to do what we do. Its a pitty that those that have made their love of the sport seen by the public eye, Otis and Vinny Jones as examples have done so by courting controvasy and negative publicity, Vinny by having his SGC/FAC withdrawn for fighting on a plane! And those few who are celeb antis are much more vocal about their beliefs -
Thought this might interest some on here; http://www.potkiln.org/ Mike is a great chef and a field sports fanatic, some of you may have seen his tv programes or read his article each month in The Field.... Anyway, the pub is just fantastic, but he also runs courses on game prep, cooking game, butchering, mushroom picking etc all very good. Def worth a look for anyone interested.

Saw an article in one of the Sunday glossy mags a while back, MPW has over a hundred deer trophys up in his house, seemingly he is obsessive! Now I remember, I think he got a trophy Roe last year and was then beaten the very next day by someone else! Mike Robinson is also a mad mad keen stalker, bloody good chef too; his pub is filled with trophies. Check out http://www.potkiln.org/ a great guy who cooks briliantly and loves his field sports -
