  1. I'll add that transport and the money to travel has played it's part as the old days were as far as a man could walk or his horse could so localized breeding was all there was and only when tribes met either in peace or conflict would the different cur types of dogs were mixed and bred into maybe what we have today as such. Totaly with you on what you've written and myself was mixed up and wrong about the time latin was used as a written log of the world..
  2. Terriers were called curs before they were called terriers ,hence the phrase to cur tail when you had to pay taxes on dogs except small dogs and to show this they cut the tails off them and the habit of docking small dogs has stuck. Latin came along when christianity spread.as that's the written language they used and there were small dogs used for hunting and vermin control way before then..
  3. Terriers were first bred as general vermin dogs and maybe used underground on badger because you can eat him and wear his coat i'd say fox control only came along with terriers as mankind settled and started to farm that bit more intensly and were used to protect livestock .Using terrier just for sport rather than a need to came along as life and leasure time got easier in general for man kind,...
  4. One a keeper pal of mine found and i got it mounted for him,,feck knows why it's on it's side though..
  5. Shouldn't joke about dyslexia as it can cause some folk to look right cnuts, like the time i turned up at a toga party dressed like a goat....
  6. Well it happens mate and to the best of folk and looking at her she's proven herself and if the sire has then not many folk will care when it's worker to worker who cares what colour or shape it is..Pups should look ok anyway and the very best of luck with the whelping....
  7. Have to say when you display them all like that,it does make you wonder why we do take the shot sometimes as they are all spectaculer creatures. A truely brilliant job with showing them in all their glory Rob...
  8. Not a bad boat is a Wilson Flyer and with a decent sized engine on it it'll take you a good bit off shore and they can handle a bit of a sea to if needed..The hull shape is good for solid platform as such but they do use a bit more fuel than a normal hull as such, that's what we found with my pals old one..
  9. Sad he acted like he did and the same can be said for a few others to also be fair...
  10. That's not the Don Campbell i'm on about Bangers..
  11. He had his own line of russells and at one point i'd say arguably the best kept russell line that was public as such(rather than back yard never to be seen type lines) and there a tall russell but no a parsons as such and he also bred borders but i don't know about them or the manchester terriers but like i said he was the terrier man for the east essex hounds for donkeys years and there's a few black dogs and russells aboard and working with the east essex pre fix to there names..
  12. I'm pretty sure it's only peathroat and pied are the colour mutations found in native goldies, the rest are bred down from northern or sibo birds..
  13. Most canal boats (narrow boats) are built inside with weight and leaning over in mind, water tanks and derv tanks normaly ballancing the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom builds as such..My brother lives on a narrow boat and has totaly rebuilt his inside and had the think about the lay out like i have said as that's how i know about it,lol..
  14. Sorry Blossom if i hurt your feelings and got any more vids of dogs making hard work out of coursing pregnant hares?,just to get back on topic like...
  15. Along with the "Bottomless slop" will there ever be a ending to all this utter bollocks about what is the best dog that cheats on killing it's hare,, wankers and nonces.. thought they were "proper dog men with proper dogs"......
  16. Had the pleasure of all of your company some time ago out on the out back Norfolk marshes (the proper slop) and had some sport with you and the dogs named above, great night and remember it well Chaps, RIP Buck and chin up Ray as as hard as it is ,it's better we had the time with them than never having it in the first place mate....
  17. HJCCR... hunt jump catch carry retrieve.... or RHFD rabbit hare fox deer......
  18. Sorry bud ,but feck all legend about a shite house trick like slapping someone knowing they won't be able to retaliate.. Gutless prick comes more to mind....
  19. Just read he died a week ago, Terrier man for the East Essex for years and had his own line of russells,,East Essex was his prefix...My russells are from Don,one his blood and another he from someone else and they do me just fine, RIP Don and thanks mate..
  20. It's a saluki based dog ffs.. If alll the bollocks and bullshit we hear about breeding, matching, boxing them in and the slop and they all ain't catching dozens between them ,then really...ffs.. Feck knows where you got the next bit from but you won't see a less than a minuet dog because you lot can't breed anything but cheating plodders..lol..
  21. I have a 26 year old step son who lives in a caravan in my garden and has done for the last 6 years,he's pretty much worked from when he left school and apart from a few years of pissing it up he just cannot afford to move out and pay over a grand a month for rent. I know of at least 4 others living in caravans in the parents gardens, so sorry to read your story bud and glad you all have sort of come out the other end ok...
  22. It's cheating though using a non native distance runner to catch a native sprinting animal, iv'e alway been more impressed by a normal regular lurcher taking a few over a season than these coursing line bred cheats killing dozens each week,lol..
  23. I remember back in junior school when a parent came into the class room and slapped the teacher for bullying her son, none of us were ever bullied by the bitch of a teacher ever again..Good old days as the old bill weren't even called..
  24. I'm sure he squeezed in a " There she blows" moment.....
  25. I'd be trying to train him not to get to excited around rabbit holes as a terrier that wants to follow rabbits to ground is a whole bunch of trouble waiting to happen, my terriers get a bollocking if they try to push there heads into rabbit holes as iv'e been there with a terrier to ground in a rabbit hole,no spade and you can hear the twat digging on and burrying itself..Not a good situ at all and one to try to avoid at all costs fella..
