.222 OR .22-250 best fox round

I have a gunsmith mate who uses 22-250 and a 22-4000 both custom made and he hand loads as well. I have seen him shoot foxes and crows at incredible ranges with both. He recently custom built a .20 for foxes was a superb rifle, very accurate and did the job. My neighbour, who I go foxing with, has a Howa1500 in .223. We have used both 55 grain and now 40 grain V max and both do well on fox. In the past 7 months we have taken over 70 foxes with this combination so it must be OK? Has anyone tried Privi Partisan in .223 ??? -

Sounds like a good day and hares in big numbers as well! We have been asked to knock a few over on our 'lamping' permissions, farmers say too many about! Mind all this shooting of hares will cause so much hag on here with the lurcher boys who see it as their god given right to take em with dogs even tho its banned!!!

Just spent the last 10 mins looking at rankings and cant believe the WBC rate Tyson Fury at 7!!! I have watched his last 2 fights and he was dumped on the floor in the first couple of rounds in both! OK he came back to win but he really dont look that good!!

The guy has the wrong name! 1) The 'original' Tyson was an awesome heavyweight 2) Fury (a form of anger) what a joke !! Big man no class and will never make it!!

Vitara! We use a short wheel base for lamping and its ideal recon the long wheelbase in diesel should be OK fo the dogs. Was told the Nissan Xtrail in diesel is quite economical not sure about off road tho?

I had 20 kits last year and couldnt even give the away! Have now got rid of all my adults as well as I can really be bothered anymore! Saying that I got those for free and doubt if I would pay for one, you just need good mates!! Pet shop prices are stupid £20 + as are 'market' prices

The bloke is a joke as a heavyweight. Boxing has too many 'titles' now, the only one he is likely to win is the ITF (Im Tyson Fury) Well if he dont knock himself out -
We havent in my opinion , you say we have got the players to win a tournament name them and remind me what makes you think they have what it takes ie when have they been in a tournament where you thought "they can win this" , Italia 90 or Euro 96 maybe , are best teams/players in premiership are foriegn , Man City have Joe Hart , Man u have Rooney , Tottenham have Parker , Chelsea have A. Whoever takes on the job is a brave man or stupid! The FA will always dictate to their chosen manager, who may not be the right man for the job in the public's mind. They have spent millions on great coaches and managers and none have actually won anything! Its a thankless task trying to get the best out of good (not great) team players at international level, some of who hardly wear their hearts on there sleeves do they? Whoever gets the job should be allowed to do it their way and not have the FA media and us going on at them.

As a shooting person and a previous coursing fan, shooting hares is no feat. As for control shooting them does nothing to maintain a healthy population as preference will always be the stronger bigger hares because people who shoot are only there to control numbers and not bragging rights.... Surely its gotta depend on the dog! If its one of the bragged about ones on here then it wont matter how big or strong the hare is!

I find a well placed 17grain HMR round does the job very well. Were loads on my permissions I was asked to thin them out a bit by the farm managers. This topic is bound to get some stick from the dog brigade as we all know its their right to take hares with their long dogs :whistling:
