  1. seriously sorry for being a pest, but what the smallest ye could mae a blade?? before it becomes too fiddly or a pain in arse, ideally id like summat just big enuff an no more to nip a bunnys belly open so i can get guts out, thats it, i get stopped by police a lot whilst they check my permission slips an like, an always getting searched, seems most cops know me now, but everynow an again ye get a new face that wants to make ye life difficult Oh you must look a suspicious one I cant remember' in over 30 years' ever being asked for a permission letter or being searched! Have had the p
  2. A gunsmith mate swore by 20cal and said you got the best of both worlds! Some 25 years back he used to have an old Sheridan Blue [& Sliver] Streak multi pump in 20cal. Not many .20 pellets available in UK then! Being a bit 'anal' and a bloody good 'smith' he made a former to size down .22 pellets. Bit laborious but they were a 'perfect' fit! The gun / pellet combo was awesome but hard work to pump!
  3. Good looking blades mate and not too big for the job either
  4. We only used lamp and gun and had over foxes end of last harvest and had 38 so far this year. Admit they can get lampshy but it adds to the skill if you get one of them! The SWB vitara we use has had a home custom conversion done to the roof for lamping and a brush over in nato green. Its the dogs nuts and goes anywhere! Difficult to see for sure and we got permission to use it on our local golf course!!! Forgot to add that I have used an Archer night sight on a mates HMR, that is brilliant as you use it like a scope but sadly very expensive!
  5. Tips make no difference to the round at all its just the pigment of the polymer used. Most likely a 'dodgy' batch or they got damp? Take a note of the lot number and email Hornaday for their advice
  6. We had one on 'demo' from a local gunshop. Seems to put lamping into the videogame category! Somehow didnt seem right looking at a screen and not thro a scope. Reminded me of 'The Golden Shot' cos you dont actually need to 'shoulder' the rifle, its like someone doing the shooting for you, for me a big thumbs down! But to each their own. I will stick to Vitara, lamp, rifle, scope, lamp and my mate with me!
  7. This all gets forgotten by the Yanks when it bites em back! Sad event for sure but they forget they funded terrorists themselves
  8. Is it me or do all air rifles just seem stupidly expensive nowadays?
  9. Cant say about the 243 but we use a 223 Howa 1500 with a Zeis Dyralyt scope Wildcat mod and bipod (unknown) for foxing and it does a great job. Will say the factory trigger is a bit heavy but its fairly easy to adjust to a lighter pull You will have lots of dosh left over from ya £2500 budget!
  10. Any free ones!!! They are so fecking expensive I dont bother to shoot geese or ducks anymore!
  11. Just put my first FAC application in along with my shotgun renewal. Fingers crossed all goes well
  12. We tend to leave them on the field or in the ditch. Less people see the better as has been said. Saying that we did arrive home this week with 2 still in the carry tray on back of vitara! Was a quick trip back out to nearest hedgerow to get rid! Is it just us or dont there seem so many about this year! 2011 we had over 55 in 3 weeks after harvest 2012 only 20 odd
  13. did you watch the euros.... Did we win it!!!! Did we f**k Simply not good enough why did'nt he pick better players, surely there better in Premiership than the team he came up with Better in Championship and they may try a f**k sight harder if given a chance!
  14. did you watch the euros.... Did we win it!!!! Did we f**k Simply not good enough
  15. Pratts Plaice Yaxley used to be good. Walton Fish Shop Peterboro also. MInd both some time ago. One in Higham Ferrers high st. Skeggy one called Eptons
  16. Butter, milk and an egg! Plus any 'extras' like mustard
  17. They just seem to play with no pride or passion

  19. I dont mind any jam but ya def cant beat home made !
  20. Meeeow!!! lol nah i cant stand her - stuck up her own arse! I would also like to punch tyson fury - but i do believe i would get a good beating Mate you get the first dig in at him he goes down like a sack of shit!! Well he has in the fights I have seen granted he has got up and won but not fought class yet!!
  21. Any of the twats on reality TV the people who make it and the people that think we should watch it. All the cast of The Only way Is Essex and stupid progs like that
  22. Our 'adapted' hand painted vitara. Ply deck has fold out sides and a watertight opening hatch has been cut into roof so you can stand in back (one seat has been removed) and shoot using the deck as a platform for the bipod. 360 degree vision and shooting! Brilliant for foxing and lamping rabbits. Have made a tray which fixes to the tow bar to carry the dead rabbits.
  23. no problems with shooting hares, as i keep repeating, but do you not think it would have been better with hindsight to have done it in the winter before they had young or after they have finished rearing their young, its 4 months a year Havent shot any since march w3e clear up all we can during the winter. No hindsight required
  24. We have been asked to shoot hares on a lot of our local permissions to keep the numbers down and also the 'coursing' franternity off the land who seem to think they have the sole right to them. The HMR works a treat fills the freezer.
  25. I was always told 'Golf is a good walk spoit' must admit the walk round with the dogs would be preferable. Always have to be wary of bunkers tho I have know a few dogs do themselves a nasty 'falling' in them!! We have had a good few off 'our' course with the rifle and the odd charlie as well. We have to cover a fair few permissions so the motor is the best option
