Another spanner mate! Was always told by Titan (now Falcon) to use Bisley Magnums [around the 20grain plus it think] as the 'set' their guns with them at 12ft lb. PCP like heavy pellets they said! I now use Air Arms field approx 16.4 grains. These work great for all 'pests' and a all ranges!

Did have the pleasure of 'bolting' charlie once, never got the net back!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also once had a mink! Dug for it and tried to get in in a sack! It got away but saw it again a week later! Never around when I had the gun with me though!!!

Have to agree with Bull. Locator is spot on but the collars do slip off small gills! Change em for leather and its ok!

Good start to your exploits, good luck. Regarding pellets I have a, now old, Titan Manitou (pcp) tried Bisley magnuns as rec. by Falcon who say they set their guns with these 'heavy' pellets. They do drop off quite a bit with 12ft lb. I have found that a pellet weighing around the 16 grain mark is ideal, try Air Arms field the Titan loves them. At the end of the day it is as has been said, trial and error, find the right pellet for your gun and stick with it. I seem to remember one company offering a trial pack of pellets poss about 20 of various types but cant remember who!

Hi mate dipping does seem expensive! Just found a 'shrink wrap' version of camo on ebay! You put it on with a hair drier! About £20 for the kit! No idea how good it is but worth a look? Or type 'shrink wrap camo' into google!

Good luck with this mate. Once got asked to clear bunnies from a church yard! Not really a problem till you have to dig is it? Finished up using the air rifle in the evenings!!!! Grave robber I aint!!!!!

Hi mate was going to suggest an old post delivery bag myself! Got one for ferreting, holds 100 nets plus bits and bobs! The others my 'game bag' great for walking up and pigeons! If I were you I would try to locate one somehow! Try your local postie or go to the sorting office and ask nicely. They dont use the old canvas versions anymore so if they have one you may get lucky!

Man your some shot taking ducks with an air rifle! Presume they are roosting. Saying that did know of someone who used to shoot clays from the high tower with a 22 rimfire!!! Personally use a Titan Manitou [shown in pic] great gun but a bit old now! Came from The Airgun Centre as a kit! Their service is great original purchaser get gun service free etc just had it done! Titan became Falcon make great guns but if a PCP isnt your thing

not really sure i understand your reply but yes it was out of range for me and no it was not a field 400 yds long but can 2 fields not be next to each other therfore making the distance over 400 yds? and as for getting it in close do i really care how close i got it????no not in the slightest as i am a keeper with birds to look after the closer the better to be honest if you have nothing complimentary to say why say owt at all and as i dont have a hornet on my ticket and i dont intend changing how would i manage that Dogga pure observation mate no offence! Hey Gaz just a thought but was that collar one of the new MK3 Deben things? Lots of people have had that same problem with small jills slipping them, me included had to dig 5' in flint for mine!!!

How far was 'too far' a field larger than 400yds long? Man you could have called it a bit further and got it with a catapult! Try using a 22 hornet at that range!

Ones we got were fairly close to Grafham Water! They were black on top but the bellies were a lighter colour. This was about 15 years ago, not seen any since!!! Shame no pics but mobiles [bANNED TEXT] cameras in those days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah! We all moan about the Yanks, they have some bloody daft ways, but if the sh*t really hit the fan, we'd all be glad they're on our side. From memory they also funded a lot of the trouble in N. Ireland. They are quick to start trouble but unable to finish it. They actually gave up in Vietnam!!

Only in America!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The bloody Yanks are stupid but at least most of them are still in US of A! In their eyes there is only one country and currency in the world! Oh and they won the 2 World War. [ on their own!] Thinking about it they have got into lots of scrapes with other countries but have they actuall won any war they started!!!
