  1. Just tried another knife idea on some bunnies. I used a snap off blade craft knife. Just get the min ammount of blade showing and lock in position. Prob shows about 4 - 5mm blade. Hold rabbit with back legs downward. Run knife quickly down from between ribs towards back end. Seems to work a treat havent caught gut once yet! Once the blades a bit blunt snap off and start with a fresh sharp section! Cheap as chips as well!

  3. Never paid for one never wanted paying for one. So long as they go to good working homes no problem. We have a small animal dealer locally who supplies pet trade etc. He will give you 3 quid for one max but wants 15 if you want one from him!!! If you dont actually need the kits why breed anyway? Lot to be said for the idea of a national register for vasectomised hobs? Of perhaps get one done yourself?
  4. Your right Netman I got two years ago they still 'work' They are the old brown / fawn ones new ones are bright red!! Still match some of the new colour nets eh? Also have some old mail bags can get loads of pigeon in them but over 60 and they are fecking heavy!!!
  5. Hi I have the forrunner to this rifle a Titan Manitou. It runs at 12ftlb using Air Arms field (16.? grain 5.52) and it loves them! If wound right up it touches 13.2ftlb Sometimes wish I had a multi shot but the Titan is a great looking rifle wouldnt change it for the world!!
  6. Dont scoff Kay used a line hob for years wish I could find the bloody thing now [the line I mean] Used to work 2 - 4 jills lose throughout the 'season' never had to dig much at all. Sometimes wonder if people are to keen with the spade now 'cos they can 'locate' quick!
  7. Ex wife used to show our Great Dane many moons back. Its a twisted game. Most judges are 'top' breeders, they tend to favour their own bloodlines even over better dogs! More cred to their kennel name etc if thier bloodline win aint it? Seen dogs have their feet trodden on to make them limp and not stand a chance in the ring. Its the same at agricultural shows as well. Used to show Jersey cattle years back did see one cow which had a pitchfork stuck in her foot by a rival owner. How low some people will go to win is beyond me!
  8. Nice fish mate. Had some last year from a local marina to 7lb they are great to catch no doubt about it!
  9. It does work well but can 'annoy' the neighbours Used to help our keeper two shot one lamped (all walking)had over 2000 one autumn! Was easier off the 4wd and more ground covered but if you want exercise then walk!
  10. Want some more before the tree rats get em? You need some good stilton with them as well Probably some port.
  11. Have to agree with you logic the inset rotary mag is tidy. Works well as long as its clean! Tend to carry a couple with me one in the gun one spare in my pocket in case it gets busy!
  12. Good point moggs! All guns are 'accurate' lots of 'shots' aint Use a 10/22 on the bunnies at night myself its a good cheap tool for the job. Put hundreds of rounds through it from start of harvest until the new crops got too high! It can be tricked up if you want as has been mentioned. Needs a frequent clean because it sometimes jams when using subs if you dont due to the wax! Rotary mags can also play up but again keep them clean they are fine as well.
  13. Went out with my godmothers son and his ferts when I was about 10. Travelled to permission, some old hand dug gravel workings, on a motorbike and sidecar!!! Good day if I remember. He still has ferts and so do I some 40 years on!!! Gave me his old MK1 locator and collars this year what a star!
  14. Change or charge? Change it for another plus cash at Fenland Rural Sports in Warboys. Tel: 01487 824821 www.fenlandruralsports.com Charge it at Theoben Ltd Somersham Tel: 01487 740744 www.theoben.co.uk Whats the gun?
  15. Guns or knives they have tried it all before! Banning handguns hasnt stopped gun crime, criminals dont care!!! Banning knives or changing the knife law wont stop nutters stabbing someone! Seems to me that people with a 'legitamate' use are always the one who suffer. Its all about getting a 'good profile' in the eyes of the voters. Whilst none of us want to see or hear of people getting killed by knife or gun any new laws wont change a bloody thing!
  16. Cheap as chips go for it. I got 2 + 3 collars donated for free off a mate who upgraded to the MK3 Deals like that dont happen often though!
  17. There was snow on the ground at the time so spotting was less of a problem! Head shot as well More luck than judgement on that though!
  18. Thanks SS. I would guess its gonna get used on charlie. The guy building it is an ace fox shooter using both 22-250 and 22-4000 with wildcat loads. He keep stretching his distances. Hes on record somwhere having shot a hare at 700 yds plus! Must confess to being one of three witness to it!!
  19. Went to vist a gunsmith friend Sat. He is building a .20 calibre varmint rifle for a customer. Looks as if its gonna be a beast anyone used one?

  21. Nice to see well done. A mate of mine had a 'pet' munty for years. Had it from a wee thing and raised it by hand. Lived in house some of the time was really 'humanised' disproves the misconception some have of us huntin shootin & fishin folk
  22. The ammount of gear some folks take you will need a LARGE 4wd Oh and an overdraught cos of the price of cartridges now!!!!!!
