Hi. Personally I would go for a 20 bore O/U multichoke. Lightweight and easy to carry all day if walking. Would have one myself. Downside is carts are expensive compared to 12G. If you can cope with the weight of a 12G go for that it will cover more options. Again my choice would be an O/U multichoke. poss sporter or game gun. You can always use light loads in it for a start. Go to a gunshop and try a few see how they feel and fit. Bear in mind your gonna grow as well something that fits now wont in a few years time! Prob best to also consider a trip to a clay range to try some out

zini I have never let it 'run out' so to speak but I guess around 65 - 70. I tend to put 60 pellets in a film canister and once they have gone I fill her up! At the moment with Air Arms Field (16.4grains?) the Titan is at 11.7ftlb or there abouts over my chrony 2 Seems to shoot sweet from fill to the last pellet but never tested it! John Bowkett could and would footprint it I am sure but cash is tight! If you wind it right up, and you cant much, it will touch 13.7ftlb You could get it way over but someone like John Bowkett would need to do it as it has to be machined out and cant be take

Gooduck mate its a hard job finding cheap insurance when your 18! Unfortunately you fall into their 'worst' case scenario! 18 year old lad just passed test first car! At least you have gone for a 1.1 which will help you. Another odd thing my lad insured his car for himself at 20 and it was cheaper fully comp than third party fire & theft! Try compare the market or go compare. I have age on my side but when I just re-insured my bike they found a company £30 cheaper than my renewal price.

They are good no doubt about it. Same 'action' on nearly the whole range most with walther barrels John Bowkett was involved with Titan and he is a legend with PCP's Keep trying to find the cash to send it to him for a once over! One day!!

Yep zini a good day for sure apart from the early soaking ! Pic of the Titan. Its long in the tooth now but shoots superb. Titan were the start of Falcon guns

Had an 'interesting' day with chimp! Started just after 8 to go look for some duck he couldnt pick the night before. It pi**ed down and we were soaked thro even went through my barbour overtrousers!! And we didnt find the duck!! Home for a cup of coffee. We then decided to give his 'new' quickset longnets an airing on a big warren under a tree on my permission. New to both of us but we thought we would give it a go! Ran the nets out and put down the ferts. Rabbits soon appeared but wouldnt 'leave home' finally got 2 to the net but there were more giving the ferts the run around. Gonna

Have never used the jag in my kit! Just spray WD40 down barrels, not much, then used screwed up newspaper as a push tho to get rid of excess. Follow it up with brush and then wool mop, job done!

If thats good I will be sticking with the 12G!

Look aips at the top of this forum. I posted how to make very cheap deeks The are old Max Baker 'paper' shells and if you have enough (30) they work great. Still need a bit of movement but they take up no more space than 1 full bodied decoy!

Even when there the worst drivers Matter of opinion mate. Insurance companies look at 17 year old lads as the worst case, boy racer syndrome. Girls just less of a liability in their eyes.. I have aways believed that there should be a restriction on engine size / output for a period of 3 years after passing the test.

Good luck mate I dont think reasonable quotes are available fro 17 year olds let alone cheap! Bit different for 17 year old lasses tho, insurance is sexist like that! I had my daughter on mine with Direct Line good thing was she got no claims added to her name even tho she was on my policy as a named driver!! While I think about it just renewed my bike insurance on compare the market. quotes ranged from 67 - 345!!

Get that Titan fixed mate see how that compares Oh and remmington 700 for the .223 !

what do you think of poodle crosses
masmiffy replied to whippetXgreyhound's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Dont the French use poodles as gundogs. Remember a guy on a shoot I used to beat on having one. I tied a ribbon on it for a laugh. -
I heard that Amy TURTLE makes a return from the dead to save him

told by my game dealer mate that you can close a footpath for 'ermin control' not sure if it right or not tho!

45p a fortune! Round here we get 20p fresh 15p frozen mind that is collected. Prob 25p if we deliver to them. Back 20 odd years ago I was getting 40 - 60p a bird unsorted and £1 for ferreted rabbits (now £1.50) Seems everything is going up except the price of game! Hate to think what a brace of pheasants goes for now? Prob less than 75p!! WHY?????????????

Thanks for the day mate, another cracker! Best leave the 'hero' shots til cartridges reach £ / 1000 One day it will all come together and that 200 mark will be reached eh? Lets hope the ferreting goes just as well tomorrow!

No interest at all? Dont believe no one has views on this!

I was once told that if RHD was introduced it could wipe out rabbits? Mind guess same was originally said about Mixy! Just found this sorry calcivirus was the 'bad' one Australia/New Zealand In 1991 the virus that caused RHD was imported to Australia under strict quarantine conditions to research the safety and usefulness of the virus if it was used as a biological control agent against Australia and New Zealand's rabbit pest problem. However, in 1995 a laboratory accident in Southern Australia led to the escape of the RHD virus and consequently killed 10 million rabbits within 8 wee

what do you mean by bulk? do you mean thousand at a time or say 5 thousand at a time, because we wont have alot to spend on carts, all our money is going towards my sparsholt savings for accomodation , that and mortgage etc so this is just what tiny bit we have spare. and where is the cheast place for carts? and can you mail order carts? is that possible? Euroguns offer 12G Kent velocity 28gm for around £125 / 1000 I have a mate who is paying £110 / 1000 in lots of 5000, not sure where from tho!

The pellet and calibre questions have been asked time and time again. So does anyone have preference on barrel length? I use a Titan Manitou with a 19" walther barrel more because I got the gun cheap. What are your thoughts on short barrels and accuracy etc Could also throw in the calibre question with it as well?

Its a theory I have always had myself. I cant remember the last time I saw a rabbit with really bad mixy. I do see em with signs of mixy but not the horrid closed eyes with puss I used to years back.
