  1. From memory Air Arms Field dont go anywhere near 16.4 grains. I will check tomorrow at work on my balance and post my finding. Whilst this chart is useful it could lead to incorrect chrony results and make rifles over the 12ft/lb limit!!!
  2. Good luck. My mate did a 'course' at a studio. The end of which got him his basic kit inks etc etc. Also a cert to say he had done the course and a hygiene cert. Got to practice on various skins and they have 'guinea pigs' who get tats for nowt!
  3. I may well give em a go purely on price! Fed up with getting ripped of for 'lead' for my pastimes
  4. With the price of pellets getting totally out of hand I saw some FX at about £4 per tin cheaper than Air Arms They look the same pellet? So is there any difference between Air Arms Field JSB Exact FX

  7. We had a boxer years ago which had a op on its back leg. Vet told us bucket on the collar to stop it biting out the stitches. Collar was real tight but the bugger got it off and opened the wound. Vet re-stitched but same thing happened. He then said leave it as it is let the dog lick it as its the best thing and it will heal up ok. It did indeed heal up real well prob took a bit longer but was fine

  10. Spot on description by Snapshot its just how it is! Had a friend who had his trigger finger chopped off. He tried to compensate by using his middle finger! its bloody difficult try it ! Then decided to try left handed but couldnt get on cos of the 'master eye' thing He finished up with a cross over stock! Cured all his problems but at some expense! As a matter of interest I have been shooting my scoped air rifle on occasions lately with both eyes open ! Oh just a thought. Dont pilots who fly with a night vision have one eye which sees thro the night vision and the other 'n

  12. Sheridan rifles go back a long way around 1960 I think. They were brought out by Benjamin in 1977 and then Crossman Have a quick look at this link. http://www.ehow.co.u...air-rifles.html I think the 'Streaks' are still available in the USA!

  14. Yep think you are right mate they did 2 versions the Silver Streak and the Blue Streak. He still has his its a great rifle to shoot but a little tiring lol I got a pump Crossman in .177 which is quite good but again tiring to pump!

  16. Just to throw a curve to this topic. Years ago my gunsmith friend had a .20 cal Sheridan Silver Streak pump up rifle. There were not many good pellets available so, being a bit anal, he made a bit of kit to sleeve down .22 to .20 to suit his barrel. It was very accurate and hard hitting! I asked him at the time about calibre for the rifle I was getting he said .177 but if you could get a good .20 cal it would be the best option! I went at the time for .22 So my question here is why has no manufacturer ever bothered with .20 cal in air powered rifles? Incidentally he made a cus
  17. I got hold of some 12G 28g 7's which worked out at around £128 / 1000 They were superb on decoyed pigeon and a joy to shoot being light. Why the obsession with heavy loads for pigeon? Remember my first experience with 1oz loads years back. I thought 'not enough shot not powerful enough'! I used a box of 25 shooting over decoys and picked up 22 birds! Changed my outlook on 'light' loads!
  18. I use whatever I can get usually they are plastic cases filled with powder a wad (fibre or plastic0)and lead. Any shot size above 7.5 and so long as they go bang, push the lead out the barrels and I dont feel like I have been totally ripped off by the price they will do for me! When are the prices gonna come back to a reasonable level, we are all getting our 'asses' kicked by the makers!!!
  19. Hazel cost nothing except a bit of time! You also have the satisfaction in making them and the using them
