  1. Basically anything which fits you well and feels comfortable! Fit more important than anything although you 'adjust' to shoot an ill fitting gun. Go to a local clay club and see if they have a selection you can try out! There is bound to be people who will help you out there, especially if they have a qualified coach!! If your using one gun for game and clays then a 12G with 28" multichoked barrels would be the way to go. Field versions tend to be a bit lighter. Personally steer clear of autos as the can be frowned upon in a 'game' shooting situation. Your bound to have other repl
  2. Titan Manitou = Falcon FN19 there is hardly any difference. Tha Manitou was the forunner of the FN19. I have had my Titan for over 10 years and wouldnt swap it. As Chimp has said its a single shot .22 but its done me proud over the years I have had it and accounted for lots of 'game' On the chrony with Air Arms field it gives out 11.8 ft/lb FAC versions have to be factory altered as there is very little adjustment on power. On 'max' I recon you can get about 14 ft/lb. To take to FAC the action has to be altered and this is not reversible! I have a Parker Hale moderator on it and 'do
  3. To be honest mate I would have gone for 1/4 if decoying. My O/U is improved and modified it does the job for me! Big downside of it is its non selective!! But not that much difference in the chokes anyway!
  4. Keep your eyes on her mate. My old springer used to have phantoms, should have had a litter or had her spayed. Finished up having a pyrometra and having emergency op!! If you dont inted to breed have her spayed!!!
  5. Splash a dab of bright paint on the 'tops' it sometimes helps to find a net!
  6. Why bother with any form of bull cross for rabbits!!
  7. I had a go earlier this year on a field of peas. Set up just behind my house one evening about 6pm. Used a few dead birds for decoys and they worked a treat! Birds have to be feeding well and you dont get long on a shot! I managed about 7 and called it quits. If I had been able to use the 12G I recon I would have had 30 in the time I was there!!!!!
  8. I have a friend who is well up on Koi. He has written a book and has this website www.koiquest.co.uk/ Thought it may be of interest to a few on here?
  9. Well done!! Mind it was a great price in the first place
  10. Yep sure have! I recon best way is to ask for double what you really want then you will get a sensible offer! Cant blame a trier but some do take this piss!!!
  11. Ha you must mean the ones who are gonna say will you take 50 for it mate posted Kinda piss you off with stupid offers dont they?
  12. Have my old mk1 locator box for sale. I upgraded to the MK3M It works down to about 4- 5' then goes a bit odd!! Recon it could be fixed with a bit of knowledge? No collar I made the mistake of 'lending' that to someone Looking for £30
  13. I had one of these for years they were good in their day and still will do a job. I stripped my stock down and re finished it to get it darker, looked a treat tho I say it myself. Swapped it for a locator and collar last year! To be honest its not a difficult gun to strip and service yourself. You just need a service kit and a bit of time.
  14. Why not barley straw? I use shreded jay cloth or wood shavings. Was told that barley straw was not good cos of the 'ears' on the stalks. I know most should have been removed but they are like grass seeds and creep if they get in a dogs ear
  15. There have been a lot of people say the Hatsan autos are no good but some love em! Personally I wouldnt buy an auto in any shape or form but thats my choice I just dont like em. Moderated .410 I have used a friends and it was OK again something I wouldnt bust a gut to buy. The .22 again personal choce but the CZ's are very good, my gunsmith mate reccomends em highly! I would personally go for the American varmint model (heavy barrel)
  16. Hi mate. Crows wont decoy to pigeon decoys but they may be less spooked! Go get yourself 4 crow decoys and a call def the best way. Have had good bags with mine. After you shoot a few peg them out as well ( have put some out with the wings 'open' think it works on occasions!) You can also put a rabbit in amongst the 4 deeks looks then as if they are feeding! Just make sure your hide and clothing, gloves and a face veil, is spot on tho cos they are much easier to spook than pigeons!
  17. I cant believe chimp is taking all the credit for those bags :whistling:
  18. Good glass fixed mag is what my mate always says. He used to shoot loads of foxes with his own build custom 22-250 and never went for variable magnification. He also makes his own lee dot reticules. Not known him use anything else!
  19. Mate the 2 I have got were part of his training !
  20. yep ive done that, have a couple of messy tats that need sorting now! lol. Seems the norm althought the studio did the 'repairs' to any cock ups for free aswell!
  21. Always used wheat straw for my old spaniel. Do not use barley strw tho!!!
  22. always time for the gun and the ferrets i still have all of them cause my mate hasnt built his hutch so balls to him now i'm keeping the lot, missus aint happy though Glad the ferts are OK mate hope they are still 'tame'
  23. signs like that appear all over the country it aint unique!!!! As said the angling society / club who put up the signs pay for the rights to fish a particular stretch of river bank. If the bank concerned is on private ground then I guess they or the landowner could claim trespass. If there is public right of way then perhaps the sign should just say private fishing?
