  1. Had a quick look round a couple of grass fields on Sat. Lots of trees and had seen a few tree rats last time there. Was a nice morning so just had a leisurely wander round. Had doubts about the rifle, after shooting like a pillock when lamping rabbits during the week, but after a quick zero I got 4. Picked these 3 but one dropped into a fork in the tree and there it stayed! So the old Tiatn Manitou still works it was just me!! (as usual lol)
  2. You get what you pay for thats for sure but with an air rifle sub 12 ft/lb most targets are no further that 40yds. Why buy an expensive scope for that.
  3. Wouldnt kick this one out of bed! Now the 'twist' or role reversal!
  4. Staying at Man Utd but no doubt costing a small fortune in wages!!! All a bunch of money grabbing prima donnas! Cap transfer fee and wages give the smaller clubs a chance!
  5. I have around 30 of the 'max baker' type cardboard decoys in my kit, and about 15 plastic 'shell' type. I have used the max bakers for over 20 years they aint the best but if the birds are feeding they work a treat. I did have a pic of them somewhere. Dead simple to make and paint up and 30 take up no more space than 1 full bodied decoy!! The 'pattern' for these and a few pics are in the pinned thread on here in the pigeon shooting forum!! Would really like to find another WAGBI flapper cradle. I made the mistake of lending mine to a 'mate' who promptly f##ked off with it never t
  6. I know where there a 3 going 'cheep' LOL
  7. Make your own decoys mate I do. They are from a 'Max Baker' pattern. Just use card and paint em up. A stack of 20 take up no more space than 1 full bodied decoy. Thay aint the best but are quite effective and you can put out a huge pattern for next to no cost!! From memory I posted em on pigeon watch and the item was 'pinned'
  8. Sure does sound like a 4 legged pest, otter or mink Wouldnt think it was an Osprey and def not a Heron. My dad lost two a couple of years back, they were laid side by side on his lawn like someone had took a pic and not returned em! Wasnt a mark on either of the fish! Never did decide what happened

  15. Yep or a 'show us you bullX' post
  16. I got a pair simlar to these when I had a Gt Dane. Mine are an all metal version. http://www.netpetsho...ELAID=437271929 Found em easy to use. As for how much to take off, you need to trim to ensure you do not cut the 'quick' or blood vessel in the nail. It will bleed for England!! On 'clear' claws this is easily visible on black claws its a lot harder to see. If in doubt ask you vet for advice. This may be helpful! http://dogs.about.com/od/dogcarebasics/a/nail_trimming.htm
  17. Was always told to not run after a pup cos they will think its a game and keep going or playing about. As has been said it often helps to stand still get their attention and then go in the opposite direction as if leaving them. If the have become used to you as 'pack leader' they should, in theory, feel like they are being abandoned and then come back to you. Good luck it can be soul destroying but it worked on my old springer bitch when she was a pup!
  18. Sounds a nice one not many open warrens about round here! Mind just picked up ferreting permission on around 2000 acres close to me. Pure luck as the owner is taking over the farming of the land I ferret on my doorstep! Bumped into him while he was driving the fields introduced myself had a chat and mentioned I did a bit of ferreting and shooting. Well was the reply I got loads of rabbits so drop over and I will show you round Must go over soon and have a look round as I was out lamping foxes on there a few weeks back with a mate and his .223 and saw loads of rabbits!!
