  1. I think you can tell from the serial number (cant remember how tho!) Or get the serial No and ask BSA sure they will help
  2. I grew up watching westerns and there will only ever be one John Wayne!!
  3. I only use the old style max baker deeks made from cardboard. Cheap as chips and 50 take up no space at all. Them and a flapper or bouncers work great. I think I posted the way to make em on here somewhere! Have a look in the pinned topic 'tips and help for beginners' in this section. Me and chimp had some great bags last year using these a rotary and flapper I borrowed from a mate. Best was 140 (odd)
  4. Had a pet magpie and a jackdaw years ago both were hand reared and very tame
  5. One question I dont think has been asked is are you shooting with the gun in a 'fixed' position. As has been said human error is sometimes to blame for off centre shots! If it were me I would zero at 30yds which is 'average' kill distance with a sub 12ft lb rifle. If your thinking of shooting quarry at 65yds get a FAC version or a rimfire!!
  6. Hauliers already get a subsidy on diesel prices I believe? Trouble is we need them to help with any protest as they are huge users of fuel! Government have basically got us by the balls, they know we all need petrol/diesel to get to work so no escape! Another big problem for everyone is the VAT hike, which also affected petrol/diesel. 2.5% might not seem great but its on nearly everthing we buy, I cant see anyone getting a wage rise to cover that on top of any annual rise they 'might' get! We are well and truly f*cked in this country each government blames the other and that will never ch
  7. Another one Try this one for size ps Thanks to your new avatar I now have epilepsy!!!!!!!!
  8. I looked at one of these a good few years back when they were first introduced. Wish I had bought it in retrospect. From memory one set of 28" barrels and a skeet set! As has been said not the lightest or best looking but soild and reliable.
  9. small wooden carry box made from ply, couple separate compartments few holes for air drilled into it,attach an old strap from a holdall/bit of old car seat belt jobs a good un Spot on mate its the way I have done it for the past 35 years!! Mind in that time I have only made 2!!!
  10. I went from a BSA Airsporter to a Titan Manitou (PCP) dont think I would go back to springers. I am sure they have changed loads since the Airsporter tho? As for price once again we shooters get ripped off. Ammo guns boots clothing. Mention hunting and the price doubles!!! Mind been tempted to get my FAC sorted cos have been offered a spanking new 'out of the box' CZ452 17HMR Varmint for £285
  11. 10/22 is a great tool for bunnies. Sometimes struggle cycling subs but a quick clean should sort that! As for trigger Rimfire Magic do a kit for around £10 - 12 I think. Mate has just had a kit off them for his CZ452 HMR and it made a huge difference, easy to fit as well all instructions come with the kit
  12. Sounds a bargain mate where does it come from and does it work in conjunction with the original scope you add it to?
  13. Quite agree mate I would have to be doing an awful lot of shooting to lash out the £1600 + for one!!! [thats 1600 rabbits to pay for it] Not a bad bit of kit tho cos it just fixes to the rear of scope. Also allows you to use the normal facilities of the scope as well as in mag etc You do need to push the scope forward a lot and its a bugger for eye relief when you take it off ! I recon you would need a dedicated rifle for using it on to save faffing about but then which rifle which calibre!!!
  14. Went out for 15mins tonight with a friend to see how his Starlight Archer NV 'worked' He has this on his CZ452 Varmint 17HMR [16" barrel.] Wasnt a good night to try really raining windy and not really that dark at 8pm! Although it has a few 'dots' on it the overall picture through it was quite good. We scanned a couple of grass fields to see what was about finally spotting one at approx 100yds. (judged by knowledge of the field!) With the IR lazer on the eyes shone up nicely so I was invited to have a go, who was I to refuse? Put the x hair between the nose and eye to allow for the side
  15. Newcastle in Europe !! We going to war again ?
  16. Does this mean there will be loads of old DPM gear available at very cheap prices now then?? :whistling:
  17. Proof again here that footballers are overated and overpaid!! Andy Carrol is a good old fashioned centre forward big strong good in the air and with his back to goal and can score, There is no way he is worth that sort of money, if fact I cant think of one player in the world who is !!!! Football transfer figures are plucked from the sky by agents who just want thier cut The higher the fee the more they make!! Oh and I recon the same can be said for blood sucking estate agents as well!!
  18. All the jack russels I had ran on three legs even when fit!! They are strange animals for doing that
  19. From memory bosses Border Collie had his done some years back. Was a great sucess had lots of therapy in a pool after the op to help recovery
  20. a complete waste of good sloe gin in my opinion !!!!
  21. Ferreting we leg em and thread em on the hedging hook. Lamping - in a rucksack if walking or in the back of the truck if we can drive
  22. When I helped on our local shoot we always whistle fed. Twice a day every day! Laborious but it does work they soon get to know that the whistle means food. You can get the birds into almost any drive you are going to shoot on a particular day. Most shoots would love a 78% return thats for sure well done!
  23. No such thing as cheap cartridges anymore and now bloody VAT has gone up as well! We are getting well ripped off on anything made with lead!! Have been using 28g 7.5 on pigeon a lot and when decoying these are superb!! Look for 'bin ends' at a clay ground sometimes there are bargains to be had!
