  1. I bought some snare wire from Ian B, The lad in charge of this site, good wire and a very good price.
  2. Nice going Woodga, that is a healthy looking one, thats more in a week than ive had in 10 years lol.
  3. Thanks for the replys, i am hoping that this year will be a bumper for rabbits, after last years disaster round this way, we need a good one, the gun is an AA S410, i quite like it , but im no expert on air guns(or any gun for that matter) its a .22 version and i have pulled off some decent long range kills with it of up to 50 yards i would say(paced out at around sixty paces) i have it scoped at 30 yards which realy is more the limit of my shooting skill.
  4. Got a phonecall from a lad with a small holding(sixteen acres split into small padocks of about 3, 5 and 8 acres) Hello he says are you the rabbit lad, i am looking out my back window and i can see at least 30 rabbits running around(turns out hes looking at the five acre padock) can you come and sort them out for me, to be honest i have heard it so often before i nearly said no,(you get there and theres two at most) but it was just up the road from me so i said id come and have a look. After ariving and having a chat whith what turned out was a right nice fella who got my number from a leafl
  5. 129 taken in one day from the Borders in Scotland
  6. Thats not for a lens mate its for a lens convertor, which you stick on an existing lens to up the zoom power, hope that helps nope sorry i read the wrong item but it is a very high f stop value and would need a fair bit of light to work, and is manual focus only very hard for action shots. Seems a strangely cheap lens for what it is, be a bit carefull imo.
  7. No he didnt catch anything but i was only there 5 mins, asked to take pics , rattled off a few, had a quick chat about the season, he said it was quiet, but they never admit to how many they catch incase your the tax man lol. Have saw them catch them before though, if you look at the lads left hand he has a bit of the net in it, its so they can feel the fish go in, and they tip the net up, hit it with a priest and put it in the sack over their shoulder, as The one said they stay out in the water even when its up to their shoulders, they face one way as the tide comes in , then turn and catch
  8. Took a few snaps of this fella Haaf netting, a good traditional way of netting Salmon and Sea trout. things always look good in black and white Just along from this lad was this Heron doing exactly the same thing, fishing, but on a smaller scale, tried to sneak up to him but he took off before i got close enough
  9. Got a new bit of permission with Giro, through a keeper friend of ours, who knew another keeper etc etc, anywho, got a bit of ground as a tester i think, to see how we got on, so set a few peg wires to thin out the population a bit, we got 50 odd altogether( bolted a few for Ruby after we collected the wires in, lots of little ones being a pain but they all had to go. Put out 30 wires had 23, five bumps , and 2 that the pegs had broke in the ground and the rabbits had escaped, first time i have had pegs break, ground was hard but they were well knocked in, so could of had a full house with
  10. Take a breath and hold it before you fire, squeeze dont pull the trigger, look through the scope at target(i know that sounds silly but look at target not at crosshairs if you get what i mean) and just like golf or snooker keep your head down after the shot and keep looking at target point untill its definitley dropped, its a big step going from targets to an animal, that lives and breathes, so concentration is a must and every shot must be taken with full concentration, also make sure you want to kill it, i think some people when just starting out have a slight doubt in their minds, and thats
  11. got a pair was over the moon with them at the start, letting in badly now, only had them 9 month, wouldnt buy another pair, not up to hard graft in my experience.
  12. Fourth pic down thrid chick in looks like a black dot inside the mouth, or did you mean right on the gape, if you spotted them at that age thats mighty impressive, most folk couldnt tell their sparrows appart never mind spotting young uns, nice one
  13. there dufus are genuin duffus, but they also sell big cheese barrel traps, i tried the big cheese ones a few year back, there in a box now waiting to go to the tip i think i saw some flat packs half barrel traps on BOBNETS stall at melton a few months back( if he reads this he can confirm what they were). very strong , thik plate and strong springs, but i wasn't impresed with the triggers and catches they seemed loose, and fired whilst i was handling them. but like i say they may not have been flat pack When i was speaking to them yesterday, they said that they sold cheap traps
  14. yep had the stamp had the bar code sticker on the trigger plate came in the brown boxes in tens the way they normally post them, with the invoice,(it was just the copy trap accusation that got to me ,and the fact id lost another pin this morning only leaving me 13 working traps out of 22 so admitidly i was heat up when i phoned but he said he didnt mean it the way it came accross and i accept that. As i said on the phone there is no other way i can prove that the traps came from them, but as stated before its sorted now , it was actually Paul who sorted it for me, so good on him, dont know how
  15. Tomo, i did haggle like feck, its one of the main reasons i went to them, first the quality and then the price was only 20p a trap more than what i have seen some coppies for, im not one to hold grudges and its been sorted now we have both had our say and fairs fair they have done the right thing , so onwards and upwards. What are their duffus like any good?, using flatpack ones just now and not that i know much but they are doing the job.
  16. Having been out this morning, to lift a couple of traps and get sqaured away(always the nice bit) and losing yet another feckin pin, i phoned Killgerm a bit steamed up, sating i wasnt happy with the way i was treated yesterday (accused of sending back coppies), the lad on the phone then said that he hadnt said that ,i said you did ,and he said no i said having seen the traps you sent it crossed my mind that you had sent back coppies !!!! . So i said if you think im trying to swindle good traps for coppies get the police in as im trying to defraud you, and do you realy think i would post back
  17. Hi, this is an open question to anyone that has bought talpex traps from Killgerm, i recently got 2 traps from them as a sample to use and see if i liked them , which i did they were very good quality. Off the back of the samples i ordered 20, but when i received them the holes in the trigger plate were punched out very roughly, and the trigger pins were not closed right, and have a habbit of falling out (infact i lost 2 that flew off after triggering) so i got intouch with Killgerm and to cut a long story short sent back a sample trap and 2 bought ones for them to compare. To my horror the
