I dont come on here much as its all bullshit and sniping, but on one of my rare visits i yet again come on and see that i am slagged off by people that i thought were my friends, well as i have obviously been mistaken the gloves are now off. here are some truth, now there are many who may not like me as i dont really have any time for anyone i have always just trod my own path and left others to talk their bullshit, but even people who dont like me would never call me a liar, so when i say this is the truth , it is exactly that, i am only going to adress the points that have been made about m

Hello to all not been on the site for a while and now i remember why , cant believe this pish is still going on lol, my tuppence worth is this, i have lived nearish to Whin and probably ran alot of the same ground or very similar ground, from east coast to west right accross the central belt, cant say i know whin but i do know hes been in the game as long if not longer than me,as some know i ran minshaw dogs up there mainly on rabbits and bigger stuff, not to many hares round that way(there are some but not like there are within 20-30 miles of us Cumbrian lads) but minshaw dogs can and did catc -

Rabbits thin on the ground
nighttimenellie replied to nighttimenellie's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
over 130 rabbits off that ground since Sunday, terrible aint it, just think about it , it makes you sick, i know it does me, its shocking, i could hardly bring myself to take the pound a rabbit off the game dealer, and as for him begging for more, well he should be jailed for life hes no better than a kiddy fiddler. -
Gyros Ruby, or Woodgas Typ, or ofcourse, the excellent Warrens Nell, seen them all work, and all have what i like in a dog, drive , brains, and wind in their sails, 3 good dogs.

Trying to make a living at this pestie game is feckin hard work(well moles and rabbits)have done very little with the dogs since the cold snap as the mole jobs have been non stop , but decided to have this week off as Giro is off work so we thought we would have a week on the rabbits starting with last night. The rabbits were thin on the ground and i remembered that i had seen mixie on here last time up (about 3 months back) but we walked and picked up the odd rabbit here and there and walked somemore, and the bags gradually got heavier without us realy noticing, Ruby as usual ran great, but

Dont want to get involved in dick wagging and can only speak about my dogs(minshaw blooded)but to say they only catch doubled up is just silly, ofcourse they can put respectable bags away single handed, on the lamp, but for the ones i ran ,(you must remember these are lurchers not sighthounds) and were only 50/50 at most, but i can honestly say not one of them could have caught a proper daytime hare, not with the slips the fen lads give, not a chance, now they all caught hunted up hares or 30 yarders(sometimes lol)but as for 100 yards or more on a running Jan/Feb hare that the sighthound satur

One of the nicest lads i have had the pleasure to meet, has recently done me a huge favour, that will never be forgotten, and i feel lucky to call him my friend, dont have to say what i think of Nell, as he already knows, all the best Nellie.

YA bugger yer keen on raking them hills flat Quixote lol, you can spot a new heap at a glance you dont have to bother raking them, even an old heap with new soil dug out is very easily spotted, it seems a lot of work for nothing, but each to thier own.

Ginny is that nipper blues sire?, i heard his sire was a beddy cross, and that Victor said that it was nipper that had all the stamina, did he take nipper over to north yorkshire and put it over a bull cross to produce Blue, thats the latest theory i have been told, maybe your old fella will know or Joe Ox, might know, sorry to hear what you lads got stung with sore one, all the best Nellie. P.S. sorry just noticed you put that Nipper was Blues sire.

Had a rabbit and mole job come in from a multi millionair fella that lives round our way(wont say his name a bit of discretion might be better for me, but what a right nice lad he is)and have been ferreting and snaring his rabits Ian, have learnt how little i know on the snaring side as i fence snared one fence line but the runs looked dead so i just snared the obvious runs even they were poor, but every morning there has been rabbits to pick up, Giro and I are lamping the ground tonight so i will get to see where i stand numbers wise. The moles were a nightmare, a stream had been widened to

Started an mole job two weeks before christmass but the snow and frost has put it on hold, it will turn out to be the biggest one so far and at a guess up tp 150 moles i hope will come off the ground as i have barely done a quarter and the tally is at 45 (pic of 38 as the farmer had seen the first 7 and i was keeping them as proof but he seems to trust me so wasnt bothered about the rest) have had some nice touches setting 15 traps in one field and getting 9, 17 in another and getting another 9, then 28 and getting 12, and last 12 and getting 6, so not a bad ratio all in all(setting to the set

Had dogs shot at and had a farmer shoot at me and my mate , believe me when someone levels a gun at you and means it , it is one of, if not the most scariest thing in the world, he missed luckily but shot one of his own sheep behind me lol. I was poaching at the time daytime for hares(long long time ago)and i went through all the revenge ideas as you do , but as we got caught by the police and charged ,but then when we told our side of the story magically it all got dropped(dont know what happened to him but i know he lost his fac cert)decided to leave it. Now 20 odd years on, i am on the
