  3. I have took your advice and keep him away from anything thats furry and runs. Just been doing a bit of road work, running around on the local playing fields and down to the beach. Just come back from a mooch through the fields with the lurcher and terrier. F**k me what a difference in him. Terrier flushed a couple of bunnies out and he just seemed to explode into action ran them right up to the hedge rows without pulling up the word came into my head a few times"stop, stop, for f**k sake stop. Well im chuffed to bits with his effort today. Thanks for all the advice. DEKA
  4. Thanks for all your comments and advice. A couple of more things to add He has had no serious injuries when running. He puts a lot of effort into the BIG bunnies that sit in the middle of fields  And oh deer oh deer 100% He has ran bunnies on the lamp a couple of times and is keen as f**k Thanks DEKA
  5. The dog in the title is 20 months old and 27". Over the last couple of weeks or so when he has a run on a bunny he seems to be pulling up early Is it the case he is starting to use his brain a bit more and thinking to himself i wont get that one before it dives into cover so f**K it. It can be quite frustrating at times as it seems as though he is missing some easy runs in my eyes.
  6. Later on in the year (Octoberish) i will be looking for another lurcher pup (DOG) At the moment im running a 27" Grey/Deer/Saluki/Whippet (dog) and also have a JRT x Patt (bitch) for bushing. So what im looking for is something that will make around the 22" mark, that is explosive off the mark and is fiery but not aggressive with my other dogs.

  10. This happens on my dog but not as severe as yours. On my dog his skin seems to dry out in this area causing the hair to thin out. The way i have cured the problem is to rub in Moisturising lotion(ASDA Smart price 61p a bottle) every day. May sound a bit puffy but it works. Also there was a thread on here a few weeks ago regarding hair loss.

  14. Went back to the vets on Tuesday and took the dressing off. With wagging his tail he had knocked a stitch out. I asked him about putting a collar on and he said he didnt think it was necessary. "o well he is the vet" He was happy with the healing even though a stitch had came out. Now the wound needed air to it to speed the healing process up. The vet had to improvise on how to put a dressing. He got a 25ml syringe cut the end off it slid it up around the damaged end of the tail and taped it on. The idea was if he bashed his tail against anything he wouldnt cause any more damage. Well to cut a

  17. My Lurcher got his tail jammed in the car boot on Monday. To cut a long story short he ended up getting 2" amputated from his tail The vet has dressed the wound twice but he keeps ragging it off. Came in from work today and it looked as though a mad axeman had be hacking someone to death in the kitchen as there was blood everywhere. The dressing is one of those orange waterproof rubber things. Anyone got any ideas what i could rub on the dressing to stop him chewing it???? Thanks DEKA
